Acknowledge that there's a ban, address the issues that caused the ban, show how the husband has been a model citizen since then and stress the benefit of a child being supported by both parents and ask for leniency with regards to the two years left in the ban.

Most countries are strict with regards to ban and at times even representative of governments on official business aren't allowed in if the said representative is serving a ban unless a diplomatic agreement is reached prior.

That said, they can also extend their discretion especially as kids are involved

Forget about success rate, if you do the right thing you will get your visa despite the fact that you are applying for the first time or not, and using hotels and tourist attractions or letter of invitation.

The question is since I want to renew for 2yrs must it be that my same friend that will invite me again or I can visit without invitation from her, going for annual leave vacation early next year for tourist.

Won't there be eyebrow as to why my friend is not inviting me this time around?

Why going for tourist to stay in the hotel for 2wks when I have a friend over there that once invited me?

I beg to differ.In this case a ban is a ban and was issued for a reason which could be deportation or alleged deception.
The said letter for leniency you advised could have been written prior to the application and wait for outcome not presented alongside a fresh application.
Where a person has used deception in an application they are subject to a mandatory 10 year re-entry ban - set out in the Suitability: false representations, deception, false documents, nondisclosure of relevant facts guidance, and Paragraph 9.8.4 (d) of the Immigration Rules.
10 years is nearly up so ild suggest it’s best to wait instead of getting a refusal and risking further bans.
