It's nothing. You guys won't disembark (come down from the plane). It's a technical stop over. Maybe refuelling. I'm flying same ethiopian airline and have same in my itinerary too. I called wakanow and they cleared me on this. The ground time simply means the time u guys will spend on ground while technical work is being done. After the 1 hr u guys fly back enroute chicago.

I booked lufthansa on the 5th of this August after confirming from someone who knew a student that flew lufthansa of recent. I tried to book mine, I was debited, no receipt. I had to hit them up, then after confirmation of my payment using my first name and last name( it was tough tho), I was asked which visa category I'm having, I told them F1. Next thing I heard was "kindly be informed that this itinerary won't fly". I asked more and they said they don't carry F1 passengers. Next thing was a revert of my payment. So, just make sure of ur communication with them so u won't be stranded at the airport. Lufthansa was the cheapest for me then. I forgot to mind the restrictions placed on flying through european countries. All the Best!

your school has to issue you an i20 first, you have to process that, then when you get the i20, fill your ds160, apply for visa on gtb app, pay for your sevis fees, apply for emergency date and start preparing for your interview

it’s not necessary that a US resident pay on your behalf.. if you have a $ master card just fund it and make the payment.. I can help you with that .. I do have a $ GTBank master I use to make payments

1. If he has opted to make payment through the other channel, he can not make payment with debit card anymore. Talking from experience.

2. As a Nigerian, WIU will not accept app fee payment through debit card from you. It has to be through bank check or money order.

He only have two options, find someone in the US to make the payment for him or mail them politely to ask for app fee waiver.

I booked through wakanow for Lufthansa and the wakanow agent office told me it won't fly students on Nigerian passport except US passport. I was about getting my refund when the same wakanow agent called to inform me she has called the office and they will be flying F1 students with Nigerian passport.

I guess you have used of your scheduling options I would have advised you try Abuja.

If none of this works.
Defer to Spring and secure a favorable date for spring.

I really have no idea of number or mails to send message to.

The form for EA is on the visa appointment portal.
Just make sure to attach the neccessary docs.

If you have not received I-20 by now, I don't think fall semester is still feasible for you. Most schools resume in August for fall semester. And it takes about 2weeks to receive I-20 from the date it's posted.

Use google to search for schools without application fee. You can also mail the school, explain your situation politely; they'll grant your request. I applied to 15 schools and I didn't pay kobo for any of them, though it's undergraduate program. I believe you can do same for graduate program.

Now the question is should he use his brother’s name while filling the sponsor information on the ds-160 or should he use his brother’s business name. Please respond guyss. Thank you

His brother’s name would be best. That way it establishes that a reliable sponsor is funding your education, and not just some company. (Sibling + Organization)
He would propose during his interview that his brother, the owner of xyz firm is sponsoring
