It's just clear and normal. All fingers are not equal. As the rich kids better than the maids, so the maids better than the beggar. Atleast the maids have a good house to stay, but the beggar might not |

Magnoliaa:Some parents believe they have done the best by bringing a child to the world and the child should face 'suevival of the fittest'. Some believe the little the have, they must tithe so God can bless them more not knowing that their hard-earned money pay the GOs' children school fees. As he explained, the issue is complicated. Imagine the church you pay to is the same children of the pastors that will employ your children as maids. Where is God here. It is purely Friday system. |

Fountainofyouth:So he is now obligated to send the child to school right because of his act of generosity, what a sick mentality of entitlement of black people you just exuded in this post? If you begged someone for N500 and he gave you N100, appreciate him for that alone. That is why people don't want to help these days, Nigerians will turn your act of generosity into entrapment. Why can't you question the child's parents for giving birth to a child they cannot take care of ![]() |

Op, you funny no be small. In fact, your writing style cracked me up through the reading . You said you asked him why he didn't rather get a job rather than begging and you were at the same time shocked at his response of promising to leave the streets if he were given wares to sell, being that he was a minor. Funny you . |

SeaTrade:Was dumbfounded as I didn't expect that kind of a response from him considering his age and also I thought he was one of those career beggars. Talk about confusion ![]() Imagine asking a child to get a job just because he asked you for peanut to quench his hunger, only for you to turn around and say, considering his age bla bla bla. Attention seeking stingy man,I hope you deposit all the attention you got here from your self gratification in your bank account. Also I stop reading your rubbish after the bolded. |

Adaanna:Beautiful you Ada! Many Parents have failed to instill discipline on their Children and used the Maids as cover up.But trust God,He knows tomorrow and hand over judgement to all in such a way that those Parents do regrets bringing the Children to the World.A bit of discipline doesn't mean you don't love them! |

ethicallyright:I think most times the problem is psychological. Sending your child away to go live with someone may create a sense of abandonment in the child. Such children might subconsciously think that either they are the cause of their parent's misfortune or that their parents didn't love them enough to stick it out with them. Even when they are with a good family ( mind you no matter how good a family is to their maid, the parents child relationship/bond rarely exist between the maid and the bosses, and this bond is very essential in child's development). The maids most often "found love" in the hands of anyone that ever tells them how beautiful they are and how much they are loved. For the first time they don't have to do anything for men (unlike in their boss house where they have to at least do their job right to get a thanks) to get a compliment. They fall for the cheap lies. This could be one of the reasons to why some of them no matter how nice you think you are to them, they will end up ruining the life line being offered to them. Secondly, the problem is magnified by lack of awareness. Most maids are from non literate parents and have no idea what protective sex is. Couple with the fact that we hardly have sex education ( I don't know if they have started teaching it in public school), hence they have no idea what to do in such situations. Being up children is not easy and child development is very complex. A little incident may leave a life long trauma in most people. I remember when things got tough in my home my mother stuck to her guns that we will never live with anyone. If anyone wants to render help he/she should send the tuition rather than any of us going to live with the person. She refused even her own and my dad's siblings from taking us. It was tough but I never felt unwanted and that made us pull through those difficult days unscathed. Today we are doing well thanks to God. I |

This shii happens everywhere...youd see very small kids hawking on the street, kids that are suppose to be in school or be resting after schools activity, and they dare not touch a dime or eat from what they are selling...they end up begging even while hawking because they possibly doing it on empty stomach or they had very little to eat...nd some parents think its normal..those kids end up stealing at every slight opportunity they get, because they want to be like everyone too..wear decent footwears, clothing and look,IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE WORLD,START FROM THE STREETS... a token and an act of kindness might change their lives. Being good to them might give them a soft heart and allow them live well..checking on them might make them happy and maybe a hope for them to never give up...remember everyone needs somebody at some point in life.... |

McStoic:Actually religion encourages its followers to grow and multiply, because children are a gift from God and God will take control of everything. So lots of parents use this as a reason to bring children into the world they can't take care of. |
