It still baffles me when I read people's comment condemning the Taliban. It was American and it's allies that created Taliban and armed them to oust the Russians. It was same America that drove out Taliban government 20 years ago and install a pseudo government because they claimed the Taliban are extremist in their belief.

The question now is why is America interested in Afghanistan? Why are they recolonizing them with Western ideology, is it by force for people to think and act like you?

Some people even said the Taliban kill with gun and bombs as if the manufacturing of theses weapons are solely one by Arabs/ Muslims. Most of the armunition used are manufactured by the West, so the question again is does the West create these arms to kill antelopes in the first place. Is it not the same guns that were used to capture and colonise Africans against our wish.

Either you like it or not, majority of Afghanistan (including the military trained by the US) are OK with the Taliban and their true identity and not the Western imposed life style. Therefore Afghanistan is and will remain for Taliban and Afghanistan people.

Twenty years later , the world is now clear-eyed about the legitimacy of the Taliban. In a bizarre manner, what is happening in the country is a revolution as long as we agree that revolution and the will of the people are one.

In fairness to the US , balance was difficult to maintain between pulverising Al-Qaeda and defending the dignity of humanity in Afghanistan. America will never fold its arms and let the world be run by a group of radicals clinging to a distorted version of Islam. In Afghanistan where women and girls are oppressed , where education is a crime, Islam is unfortunately degraded and tarnished. Meanwhile, examples from Muslim majority countries like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc. show the CONTRARY.

To the point: Afghans should be left alone to decide their own future in so far as the Taliban bloodless takeover has the support of the majority. Let's see and see if they will not overrun their time. Let's wait and see how true are the promises the Taliban leadership has made so far.

I'm not supporting that too. Women's and children's rights must not be trampled upon or abused. Men's rights too, .....not one at the expense of others. The West have their issues and the terrorist organisation(s) have theirs too. We should criticise abuse wherever it is found. It's also dangerous to constantly take sides with a people group because they have certain acceptable practices, share religious affinity with us, etc given unpredictability of human behaviour and nature that oftentimes lean towards decay and decadence. Asides, every culture has its dark sides which must be criticised untill they are discontinued.

Polygamy, however is barbaric. Allowing men to acquire more than one woman, or forcing women to marry against their choice is the height of barbarianism.
