Hybrids are generally cheaper than Corolla in Nigeria today. Leave electric vehicles for now till our federal government repairs Nepa

They're not that cheap like you think oh... Jiji the Toyota Prius now you'll hardly find a tokunbo up for sale the only one you'll see is selling at 1.7m above while tue other once you'll see are naija used, I bet you don't wanna go the naija use way for a hybrid or EV. Even the 2014 model is above 3.5m so tell me how that is cheap.

If the hybrid and EV cars are ok like you think then you should be worried why Nigerians are selling off a 2008 model car that has barely done 150k-miles

I have always said this. If you want to know your actual rating, ask your rider to show you your rating on their app. The rider app displays the actual rating.

I was once on 4.75 and got two terrible riders back to back and I was sure I'm getting one star from both. When I got home, my rating was still on 4.75 but I knew it was a scam.

Fired up my rider app, booked myself and guess what I saw? 4.5. I know from experience that the actual rating is below 4.5 but bolt approximates to the nearest decimal. I knew that the bolt hammer was coming and I'm getting blocked.

I went out immediately and did my thing. By the time I was done, booked myself again and I started seeing 4.6. In all of these, my rating was still displaying 4.75 on my own app. If I had not been smart about it, they would have just shown me 4.4whatever one day and blocked me immediately.
That your thing dey help oo, but only for those wey know. wink

N1.7m for a tokumbo Prius is still cheaper than its Corolla counterpart and of course the only reason why people sell off their Prius is MOSTLY because it’s having electrical issues not engine or suspension or gearbox etc problems.

Auto electrical issues though daunting can be troubleshooted by a competent mechanic who knows his onions.

That 2010 and above Prius is overkill for Uber here. I’d do an older model first even if it might come with slightly degraded batteries

I Thank God, I have been able to get my car back without paying a dime.... thanks to the just legal director for lastma whose office is located at their head office in ilupeju... I went there this morning to lay my complaint, he summon the officers to come to their office with pictorial evidence of the offense I was accused of,
After waiting over 5hours with no sign of them, he got into in car and we drove to the yard in pen cinema, At the end of the day, the ticket booked was returned to the booking officer who will be paying it from his salary, An apology was tendered to me, my car tyre were pumped and I left there without paying a dime and the officers involved will be suspended....

Good day pilots, Injustice and Oppression seems to be norms in nigeria especially Lagos... yesterday evening around 5:30pm, while I was approaching akilo road via cameron road, at the junction where the traffic light was, I was approached by the non uniformed men who stopped and jumped into my car and claimed I was willingful obstructing the road which I didn’t as I was taking a right turn to akilo but two commercial vehicles did the obstruction but sped away when they saw the Lastma coming, Next thing I was told to drive to the lastma pen cinema yard and a ticket of 50k for obstructing road was issued for an offense I didn’t commit... please anyone have any help/suggestions that can be done as this is clear act of injustice ?

The car selects enters drive and reverse....but when the car accelerate on a free road and decelerate due to traffic or anything that makes it move back to low acceleration the rpm will be increasing while the car doesn't even move...put the car off and park and restart after probably 5min...every thing go back to normal only to resurface when you accelerate towards 30-40 and it goes down to 20 for it to come up back the same surging of rpm without moving will resurface ..

Gear oil is gauged

He mentioned traffic light going to Akilo.
The only working traffic light on Acme road connecting Akilo is at the acme /metal box road intersection.

So I assumed if he was heading towards Akilo. He should be on the left lane since he is going straight.

Hello guys good morning , pleas read this and advice me.......

i posted sometime ago that i was looking for apartment in lagos ,you guys really helped and that settled it..i appreciate the effort here

so i was on buying a car ....someone i don't know called me from here that he works with Road safety, and he can help me process my drivers license, we agreed on 40k, i sent the money to him so from there we started talking ....when i bought my car ,i needed change of ownership and new pappers for the car to be clean on the road , he requested for 45k and i just paid him that too....... but since then is over a month now ,is from one story to another ,because i am not in lagos and i don't want to waste my money coming to lagos and it will be that the things are not ready ...i asked about the documents and the new plate number ,he told me they are ready, i asked him to snap them pictures and send to me so i can be sure the whole thing is ready, since then is from one story to another........i want you guys to reason with me on this ,what could be going on, is it a Scam?
This is why we say people shouldn't post sensitive details here, many are viewing quietly with evil intentions.
You should have come here to confirm first before sending a dime, someone here too has been duped by that same road safety format so we would have warned you.
You can drop his number, maybe his identity can be revealed

I don't think it's applicable to us yet. I got this from them this morning.

" We’re currently testing the product in Victoria Island, Maroko and Lekki 1. Once we start rolling it out to other areas in Lagos, you will have the option to opt into the product."
Who wants to opt in. It's like something is even wrong with them sha, How will they expect drivers to do a trip of N350 and they will remove 25% (87.50) and N20 for lagos state from it.
So they think drivers will happily drive like 10 mins to pickup location and do a trip of N200. Mehnnn

Those riders go wait tire...except maybe Uber is ready to pay subsidy fee to drivers or maybe the commission fee will be below 15%

Abeg why is bolt not transparent with their rating. All of a sudden my regular 4.8 dropped drastically to 4.5 and my car is in very good condition plus wasn’t doing anything out of my usual methods, got the ban and served it. I resumed today and did only 3 trips where I was tipped twice, checked my rating and it had dropped to 4.47. Na so I vex start to go house angry . See my correspondence with bolt on this issue
I don't think they know what they are doing, they judge by every 40trips yet a rider rates you one star gbam they rating nosedive.

your gear oil is overheating. change it with an original oem brand asap.

and for other drivers in the house, if you know you want to use your car for uber for up to 2 years steadily and not have to worry about your gearbox solenoids and lubrication for that period and far longer than that then i suggest you invest in an EXTERNAL GEARBOX OIL COOLER and maybe an extra mini fan for it for those times your are stuck in traffic for hours.

The uber11 guy is not even smart at all.

How would somebody you don't know contact you on the phone and told you he'll do driver's license for you and you went ahead to send 40k to him?

1) do they do captioning for people?
2) how much is drivers license that one would agree to pay 40k for?
3) you suspect you've been scammed instead of you to first wait to arrive Lagos then try trace the person and if not fruitful then you blow up his cover but no, you already blow up his cover even while being far away.

This is just like the case of a police blowing syren from their station down to a robbery scene, won't the robbery gang run away before they arrive?

The annoying part is, he doesn't want to mention the persons name.

These are the reasons izzuo always advise against putting up personal phone number(s) on cyber space because these yahoo boys can take advantage of it.

Going forward only respond to people that DM me from here for one or two reason i will only release my mobile number to them if need be especially those that have never made any comment here before.

You are right, that was a big mistake, the thief (sorry if he's genuine) will now be one step ahead of him. I have been scammed on Instagram before, after I discovered it was a scam, I'm sure the guy was monitoring my page to see if I will call him out or post any details, he was relaxed until I caught him before and now posted his details. A lot of young men are into fraud, one just needs to be very careful because you can't be too smart.

You are damn right. If you want to know your real rating check on passenger's app when they book you.

I have been on 5 star rating on passenger's app for 3 weeks counting. Whereas at my end, it is fluctuating between 4.93 and 4.98.

A brand new car to come to your PU and drop you for ₦350. Unbelievable!
