theTranslator: low brainer. wole has no quantity and quality reason his novel culdn't sell across ijebu-ode. man must have bribed his way to win the award cuz in recent years the nobel prize has been termed compromised. chinua achebe is undoubtly the giant of africa when it comes to literature, his things fall apart sold 12million copies, translated to abt 72 languages and was a standard curricular across the world. wole soyinka can't beat that... chimamanda's half of a yellow sun is well recognised and successful that wole soyinka. the novel has won numerous awards and has been used to act a movie in the usa. little or nothing has been heard abt wole's novel the jero plays in nigeria or across the border he can kip taking solace in politics. 4 Likes |
