Re: Have You Ever Eaten A Food Cooked By Your Dad? by lorhema(f): 5:50pm On Aug 20, 2021
My father was a good cook. When we were young, he cooked Sunday brunch for the family.

He liked to cook. When he wanted to cook, he'd go to the market and shop for the items he wanted. He always got better bargains than my mum did.

His soups, egusi and okra and a yam and plantain pottage, were always rich. Lots of protein to enjoy.

He was the first son of my grandma who believed that boys must be trained to do housework just like girls.

My dad was a chef. He worked in France as a cook before relocating back to naija. He's a great cook but he mostly cooks exotic dishes and he's quite adept with local dishes as well but i still prefer his foreign concoctions. I remember when the man cook one funny looking stew with crabs and prawns, baba add lime inside stew, all of us dey look am dey laugh. As we taste am like this, the pot of sauce no last till d next day

Yes I have countless times. My dad's food tastes good, but my mom's food is the best. I always enjoy stealing meat and pomo from my mom's pot of soup. I can never outgrow that vice. grin grin grin grin grin grin

You know our dispensation is different from theirs , so they know a lot about roots and ebbs which could help human fight against sickness. But our generation so much focus on fried food , almost everything is fried!!
When I was in the Vila as far back 1989-1999, we didn't know anything like seasoning cubes , we had our method from roots. It was in the city , we saw something different

Please, share the method.

Men are chef while women are cook.

I've never seen my dad entering kitchen to cook.

His upbringing must have accounted for it.
