One other way I got experience was Internship.
I did internship with an Indian travels and leisure company, with focus on SEO. Trust Indians na, they used me well loaded me with work that I started complaining, but that was to my advantage. I use my work at Deyor as sample too.

SEO is primarily On-page and Off-page. On-page includes contents Optimization, which means you need to also know how to write for On-page Optimization. But there tools today that make work so easy in the aspect of writing, tools like grammarly and the rest.

My post isn't an advertisement, rather intended to motivate those who are still undecided about finding a skill to work remotely.

By the way, Upwork is just one in a thousand options to make legit money online. We have Guru, people per hour, skillshare, fiver and the rest. I used Upwork because it is where I get the most rewarding gigs for my skill set as an SEO Expert. And yes, I want to teach someone my skill, but not free. The $20 is just for the data it would take throughout the period of the lesson. I don't think anyone would be willing to actually pay for the worth of the knowledge I may impact.
I earn nothing less than 500k on average monthly from remote jobs. Do you think 8k($20) is my problem? Or maybe I don't understand the intention of your question.

For instance, I moved from a one bedroom apartment (they call it chamber-hall self-contained) of 250(N205,000/year) Cedis/month to another one bedroom flat of 400( N330,000/year) Cedis/month within Greater Accra. The apartment depends on your preference, location and nature of the house.

In the last one year, I have only experienced three power outages, in 12 months. None of the three outages lasted up to one hour. It is very possible to have your fan/A.C running for six months, unless you turn it off yourself or you run out of kWh in your meter(in decent apartments, every single individual has his or her meter.

Internet is a bit expensive, compared to Nigeria. Of a truth, everything here is quite more expensive than it is in Nigeria.

My weekly subscription is 100 Cedis (about N10k) again, that depends on your work and usage of data.

The month of July was the most rewarding to me as a Search Engine Optimization Expert. I have had some successes in the past, but last month was extraordinary.

I wish to learn this as well but many things are competing for my attention right now that I have become rather indecisive.

The power situation also doesn't help since the training will be done online. The last time I used power was on Saturday and I can't do many important things right now.

Why don't you consider having a Payoneer account for holding your funds or are you using your converted funds immediately for some project in Nigeria? You're being short-changed with the exchange rate IMHO.
