Having said that...he should have come with printouts, and documentary proof. (and maybe screenshots) Because as things stand, JAMB has shown him the documents, and they prove he got 265.

As a student in university, I wrote a test, expecting to score 50% at least. I got 20%. That time, I knew I wasn't as intelligent as i thought (I still eventually passed the course..but it was tough going!) Expectation can be different from reality.

They claimed that he said he saved his sister number as 55019 and sent the messages to his phone since he didn't meet his desired mark. They said he intended to use it to get his course. Just imagine the nonsense jamb is vomiting in order to cover it up. Tell me, does any university accept sms as jamb results? So what reason would he have to forge the sms?
And I'm sure he's not the first person this has happened to. He just spoke out, that's his "crime". Most people that had 300+ this year had multiple results.
After checking your results and you see one thing, when you go to print it out, you'll see another thing.

When we heard this news at our lesson center, we were shocked because when he came on Tuesday, he told us that they were going to Abuja to defend the results only to hear now that he is in police custody for manipulation of results. What stupid manipulation?
They have turned the whole story upside down just to shut him up.
For his father to sue the court means that he his confident that he can defend the results. If Jamb says he was involved in malpractice, let them give him another exam to write because I'm confident that he would smash it. Just that our system is already corrupted, they might decide to manipulate it again. Infact, I'm just vexed right now. Personally, I feel Edu is too good for this trash we call country. Let them just release him for us. Person we God don bless, Jamb no fit stop am. After dem go say the youths are lazy, the youths are not reading but just look at what they are doing to someone that deserves it. How will this encourage people to study now? Yeah, funny things do happen especially in this country. Actually, people advised him to forfeit the matter because you can't predict what would happen but I guess his father was insistent.
I just pray they release him for us. Jamb is not everything. He is very good academically and I'm sure he will go places with or without jamb. He should consider this as one of life's test.
Since, once you score 320+ in jamb, you are considered a criminal

I am sorry , and I am ready to be proven wrong...but I am going to believe JAMB. The guy probably expected a higher score than usual...and is disappointed he did not get a higher score. JAMB has shown him the evidence, and he does not believe it.

Especially as the guy had no documentary evidence, no proof, no prntouts or anything...but just his 'word' JAMB has the proof.

More information has come to light.

1.The guy saved his sister's number as the JAMB update number

2.He then used his sister's phone to send fake jamb results to his phone.

3.He then passed off the fake JAMB results as his real results...and since the results showed up under the 'jamb' number...

4.His reason was that he really wanted to get his course...and thought it would be the best route...by lying.

So, JAMB was telling the truth.

What do you mean you're considered a criminal when you score 320+. There are so many people that score over 320 yearly and Jamb release their results and even celebrate them publicly. Why will his own case be different? While I'm trying to sympathize with this boy's situation, I won't be too emotional and sentimental as you sound not to pick holes in the boy's stories. First, according to Jamb's statement, the boy admitted to saving his sister's number with Jamb's number 55019 and used the sister's phone to send a result through text to himself with that high score to make it appears as if it's a customized text from Jamb. He didn't disprove that allegation. Secondly, he claimed he got 306 last year and was denied admission into Medicine by UI because he didn't have Further Maths in his O'Level. I find that as a lie cos UI doesn't insist on Further Maths for Medicine. They and other schools can only do that for Engineering.
