Prosperity is a Factor Principles. GOD Gave us all the Principles. And whoever applies the Principles is a candidate for the rewards. But note, the Prosperity of the wicked is his Destruction.

The Gain of Prosperity as a Child of GOD is that it comes with a Complete package which includes Peace ,Security and Eternal Life in Heaven.

GOD is So Merciful. There is no one as Merciful and Loving as GOD ALMIGHTY.

HE does not desire anyone to Perish in Hell. So Most times, HE gives Chance and Opportunity for the Wicked to amend and Repent. The LORD Values every soul and it Pains to see people go to Hell.

Also that Person who is evil could be a Beneficiary of His Goodness of Parents or Fore fathers who Served GOD and Loved GOD. But a time comes and the cup of iniquity gets Full and they are cut off.

There's another rich man who God called "a fool", why, because he was rich but also a failure despite that he trusted in his riches, because he wasn't rich towards God.

Hence, Jesus warned us to beware of covetousness because the life of a man did not consist in the abundance of possessions he had. Luke 12:15

So the question itself is based on an erroneous assumption, because God sees things differently from the way the world or man sees them, so what you call prosperity and long life may be poverty and short life before God respectively.
