Thanks bro. I had an assistantship for Fall 2021 but due to the fact that I couldn't get an earlier interview date, I had to defer the admission to Spring 2022 and forfeited the assistantship. I will be going for the interview without an assistantship just praying for God's favour.

Surely , God’s favour is with you...
Please I’m planning to apply to BGSU too ..
But fall 2022. My question is, for your fall 2021 graduate assistantship was it fully funded or you still have some deficits??
Second question is ....Did you apply using GRE or IELTS before you’re been given graduate assistantship.
Thank you so much for your speedy response

I got an Invitation to attend a Conference in the Aberdeen proving ground, U.S. Military's Base . The Conference is on CBRNe Conference, co-sponsored by the U.S. Army . I was approved to gain access to the U.S. Military's base after my application was vetted by the U.S. Army . I have filled the DS-160 form , paid the fee , but the appointment time giving to me was December , 2022 . I choose Abuja , however, I applied for the emergency appointment it was approved . The Conference is coming up 7-9th September, 2021 . I got the nearest date before the conference date, in the following day I got emailed from the organizer that the Conference Venue and date has changed due to the fact that the U.S. Government insist that all U.S. Military base should not allow conference or training from the U.S. Department of Defense , the conference was moved to one hotel at Baltimore , 8-9th September, 2021 without training again . This is after I have complete all the process for the Visa . What is my Chance of getting the Visa ? Note, this conference is an in-person program, as the virtual conference was held in April which I attended.

If any information has changed, fill a new DS160 form and update it. Nobody can say what your chances are until you try plus it’s been long anyone came on here to discuss using conference to get US visa. I wish you all the best

Omo you are a good script writer...... The linking of the death to the depression and the coach stuff is just too good for someone to think in just minutesb of reading this transcript

Why dont you link your father's death to the cause of the your depression as he was your first coach and made you love soccer.

Also for why this school, your answer isn't satisfactory cos the other schools has publications and you're an undergraduate, publications might not really interest you. The soccer scholarship is a good reason, you can also research more on the school psychology department, perhaps they have a program on sports psychology which is interesting to you as sport psychologists are important to any athlete.

Also prepare for what you will do with this degree when you return to Naija. Or what this degree will do for you.

Also I think your uncle being a pastor is irrelevant at this stage. Focus on what he does for money and how stable it is, cos that is where he will get the funds to sponsor you.

This is just my opinion. Goodluck[/quote]

Hi guys please help. I was suppose to go for my fall start date but I couldn’t meet up due to no availability of dates for visa interviews even getting late dates in emergency. Now I moved it to spring and I am seeing dates of February. And it’s too early to request emergency interview. Are there particular times in the day I can check for closer dates or are there anyone giving out their dates maybe they want to cancel? Or any other help will be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the information

Were you able to get a graduate assistantship ?

And what is the range of COA for a masters program

I mean like $20ks, $30ks, $40ks, etc
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by UAVdrones: 5:01pm On Sep 05, 2021
I think Dates are no longer available in December for regular appointment. You can pick any appointment date and then wait when it's within 60days of your program start date to request for emergency appointment.

Nah, absolutely not a red flag.
Writing tests is not part of the requirements you need to satisfy to get your visa approved.

Howdy! How were you able to get a date for Abuja with a Lagos DS-160 biko?
On your CGI profile online, click on new appointments, and start the process, there will be a section where it will ask Lagos or Abuja, I chose abuja.

Can one use a passport with just 8 months validity for US visa. I know it’s known that a persons passport has to be 2 years to apply for F1 US visa, however i cannot renew my passport if it isn’t within 6 months of expiration. My date has been set. I’ll definitely do a new passport before i travel, but i just want to know if this will pose a problem to the consular officer

Sorry bro for the late response.
Yes, there was still some deficit and I also took GRE. You don't actually need Teofl to apply because Naija is part of the exempted countries and I think you can apply without GRE too.

Good day everyone.
Guys, I will be going for my interview tomorrow, pls any other suggestions on this?
Samongo:
Hi guys.
My interview will be coming up next week Tuesday. Pls kindly go through my proposed transcript and let me know your views on it. Thanks

VO; why are you going to the US?

Me; I'm going to pursue a Master degree in Construction Management at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio.

VO; why BGSU?

Me; Aside from the relatively low cost of attendance in BGSU and relatively low cost of living in Ohio, the school Engineering Technology department offers a concentration in Construction Technology with active research in Construction Project Management and Decision Making. After asking various questions in an email conversation with Dr. Arsenio Rodrigues, I was made to understand that the department offers graduate internships which promotes professional experience because of its affiliations with various construction firm like Turner construction, Alvada Construction, Baker Concrete amongst others.

VO; why US?

Me; well, I chose the United States for a couple of reasons.

1. So as not to remain obsolete in this fast growing pace of technological advancement and I know a degree in the US will bring me very close if not at par with the technological advancement in my field.

2. With my experience in the cooperate environment. In the Nigeria job market today, a degree from the United States is well respected and highly ranked, also because most schools in the United States offer practical research work in various field which I know will give me the competitive edge I need and make me a valuable asset when I return to my country.

VO: what's your research interest

Me; my research interest is in the area of Construction Project Management where I will be looking into understanding the Effect of Motivation on Worker's Productivity during Construction Projects and I will be working with Prof. Scot Gross and his team.

VO; what will this degree do for you

Me; A degree in Construction Management will improve my knowledge of the Managerial aspect of Construction and Decision making concerning scheduling, quality, cost and time management of Construction projects from inception to completion.

VO; who will be sponsoring your education?

Me; My cousin

VO; what does he do

Me; He works for a company that deals in importation and supply of medical equipment to various hospitals in Nigeria.

VO: why is he sponsoring you

ME: He sponsored part of my education when I was an undergraduate and now, he’s particularly impressed that I’m seeking new frontiers to give my career a boost.

VO; what do you do?

Me; I currently work as a Quantity Surveyor/Construction cost Estimator at Efficacy Construction Company Ltd.

VO; how long have you been working?

Me; 3 years & 4months

VO; did you apply for study leave

Me; yes

VO; what's your plan after the program

Me; My immediate plan after my program will be to seek reabsorption back into the company where I work currently as a Quantity Surveyor but I will be vying for the position of a Construction Manager, an elevated position and in the long term, I will like to establish a Construction firm here in Nigeria and venture into Real Estate.

VO; Do you have any relative in the US?

Me; No

VO; have you been to the US before

Me; No

VO; have you travelled out of the country before

Me; No, I haven't had a reason to.

VO; are you married

Me; No

VO; any kid

Me; No

VO; Congratulation, I'll be approving your Visa hopefully...

You can start by checking various schools' requirements through their websites online, then work towards getting those requirements. I'd advise you also read the previous pages on this thread.

Visa approved.

VO: What school are you going to?
Me: Stated the name of my school
VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: Told him the schools I applied to
VO: What program are you going for?
Me: Stated my program (Masters)
VO: What do you intend to use the program for?
Me: Upon the completion of my program, I intend to come back to Nigeria to focus on at my company. In addition, I intend to use the knowledge obtained from my masters to improve my start-up.
VO: What do you do currently?
Me: Explained in detail the nature of my job and the companies I have worked with
VO: Wow
VO: How do you intend to fund the program, I can see you got some scholarship?
Me: I would be using my savings and MPOWER. In addition, my uncle would provide financial assistance.
VO: What does your uncle do:
Me: Told VO the companies my uncle own
VO: I would be approving your VISA blah blah blah

It is very important to know what you have on your DS-160 form. While I was talking about the things I do for my Company, the VO kept looking at the screen to verify what I said.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Should I defer the admission or is there another way to go about it?

If others had provided you with this sort of non-detailed transcript, would you have been able to understand the dynamics of getting a visa approved?

Just a honest question I'd like you answer.
