DStv Is blocking their way by giving bribes to the people that matters in the government and these government people will do everything to kill off tstv.

this is one of the reasons why Nigeria can never be a business environment that gives equal opportunity and this is why Entrepreneurship is dead in Nigeria which gives room for unemployment which gives room to crime.

DSTV is not giving anyone bribes nada.

Or why haven't they killed off Startimes too? Because Startimes has things DSTV does not have (Bundesliga, Europa league, etc for example)

Plus streaming is eating into their business slowly anyway...things like Netflix dey now, for example.

Modified

Wasn't this even the same DSTV that was fighting government over taxes self?

No one is blocking TSTV. The promoters are just not serious people. They only thrive on propaganda, they don't have the required capital.

DSTV blocked their Ambition, because they saw their plans, why would you let People know your plans and what you wanna do when you establish your project ?

DSTV saw they'll probably outsmart them in business, so they did 1 or 2 to them grin

Never reveal your plans to people undecided

I went to their office some months back for enquiry and used opportunity to watch the channels.....trust me the channels are amazing and the picture quality wonderful....the problem is the cost of the decoder..it was N18,000. At a time when dstv was sold for 9,999, Gotv N5,999 and startimes even less......also the advertising that they are back was poor too.

because if they allow tstv then automatically DStv and startime will fall.

imagine paying 2000 naira just to watch the same thing people are paying 18 thousand naira for in DStv.

this is why they are blocking their way.

No, it is because TSTV is not offering what would attract people to them

Do you have a TSTV subscription, for example? What are they offering that is different from DSTV and startimes?

Are you talking from " Them say"
Do you have proves to this allegations on DStv?
Back to the topic
I think TSTV is not just ready to compete with the likes of Startimes, DSTV, which are already in the Nigerian market.
Even the name TSTV is a fraud.
It's just like a new mobile Telecom coming into the Nigeria market to displace the likes of MTN, Glo Airtel & 9mobile which are already rooted in Nigeria market.

Same issue with almost every innovative Nigerian start up: funding wahala !

To take on market leaders like DSTV...one needs a very deep pocket.

And here in Nigeria, you are your own. Banks won't give you money, government doesn't care and we don't have the kinda organized Silicon Valley investors here.

So our innovative young people are easily fvcked by their big competitors.

If you give them big money to fund expansion projects the owners will use it to buy Range Rovers and start forming big boys...ask GTBank about their experience with that company they funded to take on DSTV some years ago undecided

You have only described a poor economy with weak market indices which is what Nigeria is.

Bank rates are generally high and their funds tend to be mostly short termed. Therefore, no sensible bank will risk funding a start up with such funds especially against existing market leaders. Remember that GTB tried it with HiTV and got burnt.

If we sincerely want a capitalist system, then govt shouldn't be funding start ups against established market leaders. That will be a controlled economy like China or Russia. Unless we all agree to be like China, govt must stay out of unequal funding of business.

The main reason why a sizeable market like Nigeria is lacking in venture funds is because of the questionable source of private wealth. Those who would have become the pool of our core-investors would rather fly their wealth across to Switzerland or London than risk loosing it to EFCC etc if they keep it here.

Koko is, we are our own enemies by being largely a corrupt society.
