You ought to have done that in the first place to know your fate as per seller's co-operation with you regarding split-payment. The reason is that majority of them won't oblige your requests on that. I chatted a handful of them while trying to buy a mobile phone but only few agreed to my request. So, do that first. Moreover, I've bought a couple of mobile phones ( not xiaomi brand ) on Aliexpress and have taken delivery of them all without any hassle. The simple strategy I normally use is to tell seller(s) to write "phone accessories "on the parcel, instead of "mobile phone", and then price it accordingly. This is to ensure that it escapes custom's scrutiny.

I asked the bosses at my local post office concerning the duties on phones cause I too wanna buy a phone from aliexpress. They said customs don't charge duties on the phone so long as the tracking number starts with RR or RB.

They said customs charge duties on phones that are sent without the tracking starting with R, so they advised that I ask the seller to use those tracking and they also said customs don't charge duties on aliexpress consignments.

So if anybody is saying you must pay duties on the phone then its a scam and they acting on your ignorance.

By now if you are a constant AliExpress shopper, you should know that there are several ways to bypass the $100 limit. You can use Gomoney virtual card. Or international virtual cards. For those that don't have a Gomoney account or access to International virtual card, I can use my virtual card to make payment for you on AliExpress up to $2,500 if you wish without any limit issue and forget about custom charges cos it doesn't apply to AliExpress consignment except u are a novice and you allow them to scam you for nothing.

You should read and read and read and research about the products you are buying. China produces high quality goods, you'd know because often the cost matches the quality. China is also notorious for selling very low quality goods too, and you can also see that in the price they attached to it. Do not believe the pictures you see as photos may be made to look nothing like the goods in reality. Also remember to ask for dimensions of products you are buying before you buy a product that is only fit for a 3 year old even though the pictures may look like it's meant for adult.

Every seller is out to make a sale, so they will provide pictures that will look great to make that sale happen. I've bought many types of quality goods but I often research the heck out of the goods I'm buying before making that payment. Because once you do, that's it. Nigeria is not the USA where you can easily return goods. If you buy a bad product, I guarantee you that returning it will often cost you more than you paid for it.

If you use a third party shipper, the custom duty is on them. Wood is allowed into Nigeria as it is not a contraband good. If wood is not allowed in, all these HDF, MDF, plywood etc you see around won't be here as they are all imported.

It all depends on the shipping company you use and the country your seller is sending from. Check your tracking info for RR or RB.
When was the last time u imported an item from AliExpress to Nigeria and how did u truly go about the custom duty if I may ask and how did u ship to Nigeria. Alot of factors are considered in these process cos Nigeria is truly corrupt but some things are not meant to be.

You should go and edit your details and always confirm your address and phone number before placing an order.

Meanwhile find a way to contact Speedaf if the item haven't been returned.

If you had tracked the package you could have contacted the Dispatch driver when you didn't get a message.

It has stayed with them for more than 2week so it was returned. I've been using the normal aliexpress tracking so I couldn't get all the details. I'm watching this other package. I guess speedaf handles all aliexpress shipping for Nigeria? I'm asking so I could contact them when the next package is ready for dispatch.
