Kgatlana is faster than Ebi. And I have little or no confidence in Akudo Ogbonna. It will be an interesting game as after the first set of games, South Africa seems to be playing the best football of the six teams. PDPGuy: |

AkinDS:it’s not about being fast but experience. Kgatlana has nothing on ebi. Experience defenders wouldn’t need to be fast with you stop your attacking threat. I don’t see anything special in her. Ghana has lost it. That’s just it. 3 Likes |

...The same experience that let Kgatlana blow by Ebi and score the winning goal in the last AWCON, or the same experience that led Randy Waldrum to substitute a sluggish Rita Chikwelu in the Mali game for the much more dynamic and quicker Regina Otu? Sure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5kFZrz9OLc - watch from min. 1:08 and see how she left Ebi for dead to score the brilliant goal. Pidginwhisper: |

AkinDS:But Ebi and Ohale ( though slow or aged ) are probably our best defenders at the moment. I blame Oluehi for that Kgatlana goal at the first match (AWCON) than Ebi, and in the final when they met again, kgatlana had no answer to Ebi, Ngozi, Chuckwunoye, and Ohale. She was lost in that final. 1 Like 1 Share |

No disputing that they are still our best centerbacks. However, you cannot discountenance the fact that Thembi has improved dramatically from 2018 and she is in top form now. Sharper, smarter and quicker on the ball. Her playing in the Spanish Iberdola has really helped her improve her overall game. She is a whole better now, than in 2018. The problem we have is the likes of Ngozi, Ebi, Ohale, Chikwelu, etc, have tacked on a few more years and have slowed a bit since 2018. Thembi is only 25 and is near or at her peak. The SA / Nigeria game will definitely be a very good test of the 2 best teams on the continent. GeneralDae: 1 Like |

AkinDS: They are playing the best football cos they defeated that weakened Ghanaian team? From the highlights I watched, I did not notice anything special in their play, or... You watched the full match? 1 Like |

GeneralDae: Osinachi Ohale is the fastest among our Defenders right from 2010 till date. You can't beat Ohale in terms of Speed no matter how quick the forward is.. As for Onome Ebi, with the way she's playing even at 38years I bet you she's the best Center Back in Africa. She have got the Experience and her positional awareness gives her the edge over the Younger attackers. Randy would have paired Ikidi and Ebi but no he didn't because he considered their speed too that's why he paired the younger and quicker Esther Akudo Ogbonna with Onome Ebi against Mali.. Akudo keeps getting better with each game she plays.. Randy will definitely start Rita against the Banyana Banyana of South Africa but I would love to see Coach Randy taking the risk of Playing Regina Otu ahead of Rita Chikwelu in that Defensive Midfield position.. I think Joy Bokiri didn't have a bad game either but some of her double touches let her down in the first half against Mali.. Okobi seems to have lost it but she's arguably the best we have around for the Aisha Buhari Cup right now. It's up to her to be the Okobi she used to be.. Then upfront Desire did well in the first half against Mali but due to our poor Midfield the attack couldn't function.. I will leave her out to heal from the cut she sustained against Mali at the end of the first half... Play Kanu, Oshoala and Ordega upfront.. Bring in Gift Monday and Vivian Ikechukwu as Substitute.. Amarachi Okoronkwo even after playing in Finland for some years back when the finnish league was top notch then during the time of Cynthia Uwak, Soo Adekwage, Juliana Bawa, Joy Okwodua, Racheal Ayegaba hasn't really impressed me till date except her robust style of play.. She's only good at playing against a well known Physical Opponents. South Africa major strength lies in Thembi kgatlana cause they mainly distribute the balls to her for her to use her pace and Skills but if those supplies can be cut off just like they did during the AWCON final in 2018, the Falcon are good to go.. 2 Likes |

labas370:omo. The only people this tournament is not sweeting is Cameroon. And it's cuz they have not been winning. Every thing was done well. The Moroccan team tagged it an experience they would never forget. South Africans are paying huge attention to the competition. Ghanians are loving themselves right now. Mali are just happy to be here they having the time of their life. I'm really proud of the competition 3 Likes 1 Share |

BascoVanVeli: There's nothing spectacular about this South African side. The two goals clearly came from our players' mistakes. Aside from this, the Super Falcons have dominated the game all day long. I believe we'll come from behind to win the game. 1 Like |
