Goodmorning
I have a thermocool inverter energy saving freezer ( can work between 160-260 volts) that works very well on medium 1.1kva sumec generator and Nepa light very conveniently. But this same freezer won't pick while using my normal size 2.5kva sumec gen. I have increased the gen and reduced it still no show. what could be the cause of this because I'm so confused why my bigger gen won't work for it.
side note : I once tested it with lutian gen and it worked as well.
So what's the problem with my sumec which powers every other item in the house except the freezer

Got the Firman FPG 3800E2. Just finished coupling the parts. What brand of oil is advisable, and is there anything else I should do before putting it to work?

EYESofHORUS:

My Oga, no mind me, i only do wetin i watch for youtube. Anyways, i have checked the link and all seems to be in order. I am still very confuse though. Someone said maybe i didnt install the piston ring correctly. I plan to open it up again and check again from begining. The thing tire me i swear. I wish i can get a better technician to look it up. Those around me here are terrible. Bad review on them by people in the neighborhood.

Hello my Ogas, update on my generator.

After much deliberation on what could be wrong that made my cord not to pull with spark plug installed, i put a call across to an Electrical Engineer friend of mine.

He simple confirm to me that i got the setting of the piston rings wrong. Please note this is one out of many other issue that may cause the problem. I explained to him in details every single work i did before he confirm it is the piston.here is what happen with the ring.

When i removed the piston ring, i was only conscious of the compression rings opening that they are not TOGETHER. I never mind where they were with respect to the oil ring opening.

When i told my friend how i installed the rings, his first question was, AT WHAT ANGLE DID I INSTALL THEM TO EACH OTHER?. Na dere i knew i f.cked up.

Second question was, DID YOU PAY ATTENTION TO IT IF THEY SHIFTED AWAY FROM WHERE I LEFT IT WHILE PUTTING THE PISTON BACK INTO THE CYLINDER? F.CK up no 2.

Third question DID YOU EVEN KNOW KNOW WHY THOSE THINGS ARE NOT PLACED PARRELLEL TO EACH OTHER.

At the sound of the last question, i gave up. Then he refer me back to mr youtube for more knowledge on it. At this point, i knew i have to tear the assembly apart a second time. No time to check time. I quickly dash to youtube for information on setting the rings.
Finally, i was able to get the info i need and i was happy for what i found out.

I reset the ring as told, my cord pulled and my generator start at a pull. I was so happy. I coupled it back and put it to work. But..........

After been happy about the succes of the problem, i never knew i would still be faced with the issue of the loud noise. Now my very good guess goes to the governor and its aids. After the generator was up and running with loud noise, I pulled the governor's arm backward to reduce the fuel intake on the caburetor and the loud noise is nowhere to be found.

At this point, i concluded the governor's system is not functioning. I had to use a spring i replaced earlier to hold it in the position that reduced the noise.

To tear the generator again for me to change the governor is yet to be decided. I never recover the stress of the previous work. I want to rest abeg. Thanks for the motivation.

Good morning my ogas
I have a sumec generator 2.5kva. It was running perfectly well yesterday for like 3 hours, suddenly the sound dropped and the voltage became very low. I restarted it, the sound was still very low and the output voltage still very low.

Please what could be the caused and what do i do please, before calling a technician. Thank you all.

N.B: My generator is barely 6 months please.

Check the frequency on the label of the generator if it's 60Hz instead of 50Hz.

Hello house,

So after countless research and enquiries, I finally bought this Maxmech RWD-3800 generator, with 2.0KW (2.5KVA) rated output.

It was actually on a second thought, as my initial plan was a Thermocool or Firman gen. But the ones around that size were way too expensive for my budget. I know the usual skepticism around newer models but I made sure to gather a lot of info from current users of this particular product before going ahead.

I want to try and do something which I wish other users did more on this thread, which is giving a review of usage over time + any major events that happens with the gen so other users can get an idea of how the product is.

So, I turned on the generator for the first time today after doing the usual. Fueled it with just 3 litres (since I'll be heading back to school with the gen soon). I didn't give myself too much headache with engine oil, just bought a Total 20W50. My dad mistakenly overfilled the oil tank but it didn't produce any smoke.

The sound is unbelievably low & very tolerable even in close range. (although it's basically only running two energy saving bulbs right now).

Closely monitoring the fuel consumption now to get an estimate but it seems okay so far.

I've made sure to go through the manual and follow the instructions carefully so let's hope the gen really serves over time with appropriate maintenance.

Inverter Or Generator: Which Is The Best Option?

It is a frequent question people face when thinking of investing in a power backup solution.

Electricity is a focal necessity in our lives, without which we will cease to function. Whether it’s our air conditioners, fans, television, kitchen appliances, literally everything in this day and age is run on electricity. What happens when the electric supply in your area starts fluctuating or comes to a standstill, which is a frequent occurrence in Nigeria?

You need an efficient backup source for electricity, there are two primary choices: inverter or generator. Now both have the same purpose that is to provide you with electric supply; however, both differ in terms of cost and long term benefits.

In this blog post, we will be focusing on why Inverters are more beneficial than fuel generators in the long run.

Inverters are a Top Favorite In Nigeria
There is no doubt that Nigeria’s power sector has not improved, leading the residents to rely heavily on alternate power sources. During the past few decades generators have been the most common solution Nigerians turned to.

Today, Nigeria is one of the largest generator markets in the world. However, due to various reasons, inverters are becoming more popular among the general public in Nigeria.

With so much to choose from, a common man may feel lost when searching for the best backup solution for his needs. Nowadays, inverters are a big hit in Nigeria, so without further ado, let’s look at why inverters are better than generators.

Difference Between Inverter And Generator
Before we can understand why Inverters have become so popular, and which is the best option for your needs Inverter or generator we first have to examine how they are different in terms of function.

What's the voltage of the generator on the voltmeter?
220-240
I have a voltage reader in the house so I used it to monitor the increase and decrease of the generator voltage. I have tried voltages from 210-250volts but still thesame issue.
The freezer works perfectly on my small gen which is set to 220 volt.
