My application was not perfect even though it was my 3rd time. My sister who is a PR in Canada actually did everything for me from start to finish. When she was leaving for Canada in 2015, Nairaland came through for her so I guess the DIY thing is inbuilt. I gave up so many times but she kept pushing me. We spent alot of money cos I kept deferring my admission since 2019 and kept forfeiting my acceptance fee but all in all we thank God. Let me also mention that I'm 24years old. Although I started this process when I was 22 �

Documents Submitted:
• All the IMM forms
• LOE (7pages)- It had about 3 subheadings and also made a table to explain and tackle previous refusal reasons.
• Passport Data Page
• MY CV (3years experience including NYSC)
• NYSC Certificate
• WAEC Certificate
• Transcript
• University Certificate
• LinkedIn Training Certificates (HR Training)
• My CIPM Results (For HR Professionals)
• My picture of my Boyfriend and me ( To Strengthen my home ties, I don’t know if it helped sha)
• My statement of Account with 1M closing balance. My sister who is my co sponsor transferred 500k to my account for preparation and she explained why she could not send more because of the dollar rate. I also transferred 500k from my piggyvest and explained that it was my savings.
• Deed of Gift for a property from my dad. I attached pictures of this property as well
• My dad’s statement of account with only 5m as his closing balance with plenty lump sum close to the application date. See, only God can explain this part cos my application was not perfect at all.
• My sister’s statement of account as well. We made her co-sponsor this time.
• 3 months’ payslips
• Letter of Recommendation from 2 of my employers(At the time I applied I had 3 jobs)
- My dad's pension account statement
- My dad and mum's passport and ID( They both have visit visa to Canada)

Please I'm begging you in the name of God, don't give up. Just keep trying. I promise you, it will click soon.

Now, my course is only available in fall and I've deferred till next fall. So I guess we wait ��. I don't know what I'll be doing from now till next fall sha but atleast I have something to look forward to.

Also, thanks to Frank and Lekkiboboe (not sure I got the spelling) but I emailed them sometime last year to make enquiries and they were very helpful. God bless you guys richly.

One last thing, please what's the process of sending my passport to Lagos Vfs? Please help me o

School has already resumed 7th September 2021, and the last date for student is today 22 September 2021 for deferment.

I am asked to send my passports for a new TRV.

Can I travel quickly this Saturday with my visitor visa and complain to the port officer issuing student permit that I need to meet up with my school hence I am travel without waiting for student visa and LOI.

Local Government letter of identification.
Or certificate of state of origin.. You can get this at your state liason office.

Birth certificate / age declaration.

2 recent colour passport photographs

Guarantor's form sworn to before a commissioner of Oaths / Magistrate / High Court Judge.... Except things have changed you can arrange this at the passport office naija style

Parents' letter of consent for minors under 16 years

Marriage certificate where applicable

Police report incase of lost passport (that's the only circumstances you will be asked a police report)

They also asked me for NIN slip.

Your personal details on your NIN slip must the the same with any document you are presenting.

The Following Tables list Passport Application Fees by Age and Booklet type.

Except things has changed, people pay more than this naija style 40k, 45k, 50k etc . I would advice you get to the passport office before making any payments online. Some of this things are arranged there but[b] SHINE YOUR EYES [/b]

My application is that of faith. So I started the journey last year around June/July 2020. The first University I saw offering my course (Special Education Specialization in Education of the Deaf) was University of British Columbia, and after going through their website and the department, I reached out to supervisors. I found out there are just two supervisors that could supervise my PhD study.

The first told me that my proposal is interesting but she is retiring soon and cannot take a PhD student. The 2nd person told me that she has so much on her hands and cannot take a student at the moment. I persuaded and persuaded but it all reached a dead end.

I started hunting again, I reached out to two supervisors in University of Alberta, one told me she is retiring soon and I am left with one option. Happily she accepted to supervise me and encouraged me to apply.

I later got to know she just start work a month before I reached out to her. Admission portal opened and I applied... And the wait started from October till 16th March 2021. I was admitted. Sadly though, without any funding. I reached out to her about that and she said she will offer me research assistant for the fall term, that the grant she applied for is yet to be approved.

I acted in faith, paid my full Tuition fee (8700cad), showed 2mil in my account, 1mil in my pension account, 4kCad from my supervisor for assistantship and two weeks later the department sent me 5kcad scholarship and I uploaded it through webform.

So In all my POF is not up to 25kCAD. It's just for one year. And I am going for 4year PhD. And I am self sponsored as I couldn't get anyone that will sponsor me. So I was really really scared but I trusted My God Jehovah.

Jehovah perfected my application. I trusted in him with all my heart. I saw his hands all through this process. This is my first application. I also applied to only one school.

I am really grateful to you all for this platform. Thanks guys.
