Gambia!!! very very nice place! I go there very often and there are so many Nigerians there..

I always have mad fun going there.... beautiful place with beautiful girls.... cheesy

Now to your question!

your N700k is about 70k Dalasis now

You need accommodation, budget D25k for a good room and palour

You need a good shop in a good location budget D30k for 6 months (rent in Gambia has gone up)

Your business registration can wait, but you must do your work permit ASAP, budget D2k for that.

Now you will need to furnish both house and shop.... for a small moderate furnishing for both... budget about about D25k

I will advice you get the barbing equipment from Naija before going.

Now you can see that your N700k is a little small, because you have to make provisions for feeding and transportation before you find your feet...but if you know a kind and nice person in Gambia that can accommodate you for a while, then you can cope.

Do you know anyone in Gambia?

Hello brother, how much it will cost me to have a degree over there

I did stayed at the Gambia for 6 years before coming back home in 2012. Firstly, they have the notion that all Nigerians are scammer hence they are somewhat hostile, there are lots of Nigerians there though though. If you must go there for business i would suggest you travel there for strategics business mapping before venting on any business, that was what i did back then and it paid off. Bro Dont be in a hurry to start up a business over there. First you have to observe the society. Dalasi have more value than the Naira but have absolutely nothing to do with one making it over there , the society is relatively poor and a fertile place for investor with some cool cash and vast ideal.

Education in the Gambia is Cheaper than we have here, but just the university of Banjul they have there and other institutes which are recognized abroad eg Wolof institute, Quantum-net institute etc. . Schooling in their university is highly expensive. it is better when you already have a first Degree from Nigeria and you are going for either pgd or masters in same manner i did.

Last time I checked for a relative, their tuition is from around N300k - N500k per annum depending on the course, that is for University of the Gambia. There is another one or two private Universities in Gambia, but I have no idea of their fees but was told they are more expensive.

Don't forget, that fee does not include accommodation, feeding and learning materials.

Good to start with teaching jobs...pay not that fantastic though...

But eventually you will be making more money from paintings and bakery business, when you know your way around and have the right connections.

The future of this country is the reason i need to leave.
This year hasn't been bad financially but the outlook doesn't look bright.
Leave me information needed to help make transition easy for me, my wife and my kids.

I am trying to say that the stronger the currency the harder to get it. The richest man in Gambia is step stop pharmacy from Imo state. White people work for him in his biggest pharmacy shop in that country. No Nigerian living in Germany is richer than him. I am just comparing how I cannot afford a flat in Germany but can afford it comfortably in Gambia.

Please the richest man in Gambia is not a Nigerian. It's a man called Conteh and he's not a Nigerian.

Cost of going by air is relatively high, so I guess best way to go is by road, with a fair cost.

Gambia is preparing for elections right now so the atmosphere is quite tense
.
Watch your movements, watch what you say, watch where you go and the time you go out. Police and immigration guys ain't smiling

Things are quite expensive now and the people are more money conscious, unlike before

But one thing is certain, if you are clean, hardworking and can play your game, you will definitely enjoy the place
