You have to consider that Man City is traditionally a relatively small club with a small fan base in England. Most of their new fans and the new interest they are garnering is outside England, and that is the audience Live TV transmission is catered towards.

They might have 100m new fans WORLDWIDE who want to watch their games on TV from their own continents but that won’t translate to butts on seats in the stadium. There is a good reason why their stadium is lovingly known as the Emptyhad stadium.
Relative to who? Because I can say Femi Otedola is poor relative to Bill Gates.

There's been no concrete statement why the Arsenal match was not aired live. But it's definitely not because the club is fallen.

Quite true. But this one is about exorbitant fees for a player. See Gallas latest talk?!
Ferdinand, Mason, etc. Ben should sha focus and work harder to prove them wrong.

Someone even said he left Brighton and they got better.

Ben is a technical defender, not the rugged clear- the -ball type. What he brings is game plan and strategy. Such types are rare. That's what the likes of Pep (and Arteta) wants, unlike coaches like Jose. I believe he will come good with time as he beds in. Saliba on the other hand is not as technically gifted as White, but his stats will be better because as defenders they will be judged by defensive stats like ball clearance, tackles, duels etc.

What i am saying is that the Man City not filling its stadium point does not apply here. Man City is a 30 thousand to 40 thousand capacity stadium club playing in a 55,000 capacity stadium. A club like City has been developing greater and greater appeal globally and still can't fill their ultramodern stadium consistently, despite playing the best football and winning titles galore. This is because of the difference between the nature of fandom globally and its nature locally.

Arsenal has been bigger than Man City for almost a century so they will always outsell Man City in England (at least for the next several years). Being a football fan in England is a generational thing so until the new breed Man City fans grow up, start having their own children, and more importantly start buying tickets for themselves and family, City will be behind the traditional big clubs in England.

On the other hand it is easier for a club to become a global brand as most of the rest of the world are new fans anyway with no familial links to these clubs. Most people are just after the reigning team and jump ship once a hotter prospect come along. Or how many people here had their grandparents supporting Arsenal? For example, almost every Nigerian Chelsea fan i know personally was supporting Arsenal as recently as 2000. Within 20 years almost everybody moved to Chelsea. You can't get that kind of swing in England.

P.S As regards why your match was not shown, i don't have a definite answer to that. I just know Man City not filling their stadium in England does not stop 100m new Chinese fans from staying up late in to watch City games.

Those who attend games are the local fans. That's what we are talking about. City have as much local fans as the likes of the London clubs and almost as United. It's the global fanbase that is not as huge. Arsenal fans are more loyal (probably because it's based in London) that's why they attend games to capacity.

There's no other logical reason for me for the organisers to leave airing our Carabao cup live than to encourage stadium attendance. I stand to be corrected.

Then let Ben get working. Ain't gonna shift goalpost for him o.

He knows that he is fortunate to be benching Holding. We need to see his contributions. Long accurate passes, and short passes from the back.

City does not have almost as much local fans as United and not as much as some of the London clubs. That is the reason they are struggling to fill their stadium. Their success of the last 10 years can't make a dent in local fan size because local fans don't shift alliance easily while global fans do. In terms of growth i am sure City's global appeal has grown more than its local appeal. A fan who has been going to the stadium to watch matches with his father and grandfather since childhood won't switch sides just because City has started winning titles. Global fans on the other hand don't mind as long as they get to watch quality football and win titles.

P.S Arsenal fans are not more loyal but just have a big fan base and longstanding tradition. United with a bigger stadium than City also fill up their stadium in the same city. Liverpool and Newcastle (both non-London clubs) also regularly fill their big stadia, despite Newcastle being a laughingstock of a club.

Arteta said all squad are ready and available for selection come NLD. I hope he sees his chance to shine. Even a shltty Arsenal player that shines at NLD will attain cult hero status till next season.

I don't think the match not showing has anything to do with reduction in number of those watching arsenal / how low arsenal has sunk.

If figures flying around online is to be believed, Arsenal sold more tickets for the league cup match against wimbledon than man city sold for their UCL match against Leipzig..... That's man city that has won the league 3 times in the last 4 years, last year's UCL finalist....

There might be more reason to why the match was not aired live, but it's definitely not because Arsenal as a club is losing fans as a result of recent poor performance. There's no how Arsenal will lose fans that will make man city have more fans than Arsenal. So it will be a poor business decision for the media not to air arsenal matches beacuse of peeceived reduction in number of arsenal fans
No where did I post reduction in Arsenal fans. I said reduction in those that tune in. The fact I didn’t tune in doesn’t stop me from being a fan.

You also have to understand that aside cultic fans, people visit stadiums for several reasons, like vibes, dates and even tourism. It’s a different ball game when it comes to tuning in. Turning on my TV I’m looking forward to excitement.

You wonder why during Wenger days even rival fans love to see our matches? It’s cos of the fun not necessarily cos we will win, not these days you sleep off while watching Arsenal play.

The game wasn't shown on TV. Same with Leicester. It happens occasionally.
This isn't anything new.
They showed Other big clubs live but didn’t show Arsenal’s just like they didn’t show Leicester. Can’t you see what’s going on here grin

Lol.

We are at home. Nuno will park the bus knowing his team is vulnerable at the moment. The key thing here for Arteta is anticipation and proactiveness in game management. That's why he's being paid and we are not.

I hope Ramsdale will bring that 'agbero' mentality I saw Vs Burnley to motivate the defenders in front of him. As long as we dont concede, we will win.

Im afraid Nuno might do otherwise. Unless he got some advisors that makes him understand how NLD should be. He'd wana go all attack and Son too with a show every NLD too.

Definitely this will be different as Ramsdale will do that. Also high distribution.

Na the hope be this.
I'm just indifferent about this match. Arsenal matches these past two match weeks haven't been impressive except the defence.
