Those are the words of my Master, Lord and King (Jesus Christ) to true Christians regarding Jerusalem the holy city!
So if Jesus didn't permit his followers to join in defending Jerusalem and also warned them not to use weapons in settling issues i also am not permitted to kill! Matthew 26:52

Many argue that Jesus had to die on the cross, and this is why his disciples could not defend him. It must be noted, however, that the reason Jesus gave for not fighting was not that he had to die on the cross, but that his kingdom was not of this world.
