My wife mistakenly sent money to someone else account. This happened last week Thursday,because the next day (Friday) was public holiday and also followed by weekend. Now today, she went to her bank. The person had since closed the account after withdrawing the money.

I don't know of any bank that won't show you the account name right before you input your transaction pin. It's a requirement for them to do that. Banking code or not

There is no hope. I will write my experience trying to recover 200k scammed from a friend. The police charged her 80k lawyers charged her 100k before any help could proceed..

Forget the money. Someone transf 60k to a wrong acct instead of mine and was claiming he paid me. Bank said they contacted the person who got the money and the idiot withdrew it within 10mins and vowed never to return it,me sef I taya, the case wasn't going anywhere,back and forth email ,waste of card. Pretend you want to transfer funds to that account number; after you input the account number and the name of the bank the system will give you the name of the account holder.

Use the account name to try and find him on Facebook or LinkedIn.

The issue here is that someone who would close an account because of 100K that was mistakenly transferred to him must be a very hungry thief!
