I’m paying for fall intake and fall is starting by oct 12.
The previous was for summer .

Wait ohh.. I don't understand.
The school still claims they've not received funds yet?

So basically what Letter of Acceptance or rather what Enrolment Letter did you use to enter Canada at first?

Or you didn't use any of that?

Hello. Please I still need the contact for the police character report in Ibadan.

Please be advised that you don't need a police Character Certificate for a Canadian study permit from Nigeria. It's optional!.

GIC PALAVA

Good day, all.

Please, I need your help.

I opened a GIC account with a Canadian Bank. I was sent an account to pay to latest by Wednesday this week.

I have tried to open a domiciliary account with GTBank and Zenith to no avail.

I have operated a savings account with GT Bank for more than 15 years now. I thought as an old customer I'll be given some consideration, but I was wrong.

I went to Zenith, the same story. The Manager said he has no powers to open a domiciliary account, only the head office does. That even if he forwards my application, it will not be approved.

I know people have gone through similar challenges before. Please, how did you go about it.

I await your responses. Thanks in anticipation.

I can't remember in any of the IRCC regulations and manuals for Nigerian applications which states that applicants should've their living expenses in a GIC. The instruction was that applicants or sponsors should show proof of unenumbered funds in their various bank accounts. I would say that you guys are going way beyond the requirements by opening and depositing funds in GIC. This is not a requirement for Nigerians albeit rather for citizens of Indians, Brazil, Pakistan, China and other related countries with economic partnership agreement with the Canadian government. In a nutshell, having a GIC does not in anyway improves one's chances of getting approval.

My niece got her PPR today. Her application was given to an agent to assist her by her parents since i was very busy back here, unfortunately she got a charged back leading to procedural fairness submission in August and this made me to take total control of her application. Am sharing to encourage someone who is in the same situation.

This is a great one, congratulations to your niece and yourself as well for being able to overcome the visa officer's concerns relating to the charge back to the crown.

If your eligibility review starts, does that mean background checks has been completed?

Background check will be updated as completed same day you submitted your fingerprints for biometrics at the VAC. The review of eligibility is the last stage of the immigration process and is processed by the Senior Immigration Officer who makes the final decision/review on applicant's case.

I think it’s a new trend , my colleague waited for a month after bvl . Choi, he was mentally exhausted, at a point we didn’t know how to console him .

I waited for my family’s own for five days n I don’t wish that for anyone. You’d just be getting attacks when any mail drops.

One thing for sure is that your PPR will drop when ircc message you.

Just hang in there .

Please visit the branch you made that payment. I wasn't aware of other charges when I paid last week.
About 18k extra apart from the USD rate of 413. Just make sure the account is well funded so they can remove their hidden charges.

Hello Destination

Review Required

Your file is probably awaiting final review by a senior officer. You should be fine if there are no discrepancies in your IMM Forms.

If your eligibility is passed/met, then the RR was probably a note by an analyst and an officer has reviewed the analyst's comments and subsequently passed you. If eligibility is passed, you're probably all good. If not passed, you should be hopeful

Hope this helps

Peace

Makano - hope you remembered the nickname I gave to you in 2018? "Man with zero tolerance" grin grin. I can recall how strict you were with newbies back then and always encouraged them to read past threads before asking their questions.

Glad to see you're back and very active on this platform, sharing insightful and useful information with others. Personally, I appreciate your kind gestures and effort. Keep up with the good work bro.

It's just one way of showing proof of fund. You're right at the bold, but where full tuition is paid and GIC covers living expenses for the entire study duration, the VO will not have concerns that the funds may not be accessible.

Ypu just want to prove a point with GIC. It is not a requirement for Nigerian shikena. We probably do too much but at the same time we cant complain since we need to prove beyond reasonable doubt every decision we make on our application.

I have also noticed the new development from other applicants concerning sending BVL without PPR. It is pertinent to note that IRCC officers are aware of the existence of platforms like Nairaland and other interconnected Canada visa forums. They know that people come to these platforms to seek advices on their application and share information about IRCC mode of operations, and as such this often leads to the frequent changes on IRCC working techniques and communications with clients in a bid to ensure that no one can fully comprehend the entire visa application process. The periodic changes often occurs towards the end of every year and its standard for IRCC immigration system. If you happen to find yourself in this situation, do not panic but be hopeful for a positive assessment.
