A man was sentenced to three life sentences plus 76 years in prison after being convicted of raping, molesting and sodomizing a 13-year-old girl in Douglas County, authorities said.

Adedoja Olaniyi Bah was sentenced to spend the rest of his life behind bars Wednesday, the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release. He was convicted on 12 counts in late October after a six-day jury trial.

On July 15, 2017, Bah chased the victim into some woods near the Reserve at Sweetwater Apartments where she lived before punching her, throwing her to the ground and holding her down, the release said. He then raped and sodomized her.

During the attack, Bah threatened to kill her if she resisted, the release said.

The victim frantically ran to a family friend’s apartment for help after the attack, while Bah calmly walked to his vehicle and drove away, the release said.

Bah was arrested the following month by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, AJC.com previously reported. He was visiting the United States at the time of the incident, officials said. He is from Nigeria and last lived in Japan.

RELATED: Arrest made after sexual assault at Douglas County apartment

Investigators were able to find surveillance footage that showed Bah chase the victim into the woods, and two types of DNA evidence helped tie Bah to the crime, the release said. The victim also testified during the trial.

The jury returned the guilty verdict after less than an hour of deliberation.

Bah was convicted of rape, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, battery, two counts of child molestation and two counts of aggravated child molestation.

He received the maximum sentence allowed by law, which Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Samantha J. Newnan requested. She cited the “severity of the attack, the age of the victim, and (Bah’s) complete lack of remorse” as the reasons for the strict sentencing.

Before he was sentenced, Bah asked the court for mercy in the case, requesting to be allowed to return to Nigeria, the release said. That request was denied.

It is a matter of public records.

I feel your pains.

That’s why I hate non essential movements.

I rather be locked up in my house all day than to be caught doing nothing outside.

Dear Nairalanders,

First I will like you to know that I am ardent user of this media web and many of the old timers will remember me if I had use my original username, however I chose not to for security reasons and also concerns about the nature of the issue at hand.

More so many of you have read about me online and on all gossips and news website,I also read about it and see various comments from critical people and many ignorant folks.

Secondly,I am presently in prison serving 3 life sentences + 76 years for a crime I do not know anything about and infact my phone GPS showed that I was at different location at the same time of the crime and you will agree with me that it is totally impossible to be at 2 seperate locations ,wearing 2 different type of cloth at the same time.

This is a case of mistaken of identification, the police was aware of this but because I just arrived the country at the time ( Ignorant of the law and constitutional rights ) i was accussed and framed by the corrupt and racist Douglas county police department officers.

Furthermore I have evidences that could proof my actual innocence like ( DNA,GPS,SURVEILLANCE VIDEO,POLICE TESTIMONIES AND ALIBI) but without any serious help ,I may definitely be stucked with all my evidences.

I have gone through 3 difference attornies since my arrest and I currently have the 4th attorney, I have spent roughly $150,000 in legal fees, but i realized it is not just about money, if the good people does not speak out and demand for due process little or nothing may change in my situation.

I have written many independent organisations, few have put me on their priority list but it may take years to reach my turn and some others clearly replied that because I am not American I do not meet up with the requirement.

Nigeria Embassy showed little or no interest,Former Consular Okoliko visited me in jail and he even attended some of my pre-trial proceeding however I believe he had left the embassy or re-assigned.

I recently spoke with Mrs. Okonta ( Secretary/Phone Operator),she has never succeeded in putting me through to any of the consular,it is either they are busy or in a meeting or they have left for the day.

I have no other option than to reach out to the good people on this forum maybe if my story goes viral, somebody may step up to review the evidences.

I have more to say about all the evidences in my possession ( including DNA result) but I will wait to see how this is going before I reveal more or post any of the evidences.

For confidential purpose my e-mail is housepower092@mail.com.

Sincerely

Power House

After the long read I am disapointed that the story has no story, background nor why you ended up in jail. Please add it because many users will read and pass. Secondly since you are an old-timer like you said it would be better if you seek help with that particular username, remember you are already down and have nothing to lose at this point. It will gain you more credibility and trust for people to help out.
you said it well my brother

You didn't share any story and wants it to go viral?? What exactly do you want to go viral??

If you are being unjustly accused, why not spill your story you never know where it will get.

I don't even understand this post. You don't seem serious.

People choose to trust or not , my username has nothing to do with my credibility ....because evidences speak for itself

They have surveillance video? Can they share it? Let’s know what they are really seeing. because to some of them, all black people look alike.

Then again, Nigerians don’t take rape seriously so I have a hard time defending a Nigerian man when it comes to rape and assault.

To be sentenced to 3 life sentences plus 76 years for any crime, means the crime most likely is a homicide and or a conspiracy to commit murder. I am not sure what you were charged with or the facts of your case, however, as you claimed that you have DNA and other evidence that would help to absolve you of the crime, you need to hire a better attorney and NOT a court appointed one for your appeal. Moreso, as a defendant, you need to take active role in your defense and not just leave that up to your attorney. I am quite aware how the US Judicial system works having been on both sides ...as a US attorney (prosecutor) and a defense attorney. Good luck!

My question is how can we help

Wow!

You see this life is funny. If this guy had been refused US visa, he would have said his village people were after him. You have been refused visa many times and you are still complaining, you better start thanking God.

This guy posting on NL now, the issue is that it may be temporal. Instead of him to quickly post all evidences now before that phone is taking from him. Well, one cant even trust anyone again.

But the mod who moved this to front page did well. At times I want to abuse NL for rubbish they do, but really despite NL's weaknesses, it has saved many. Hmmmm.

Honestly, I wished I was in position to look into this case. Wow! The person following the case suddenly stopped also.

See eh! You better be careful.

I briefly grew up in Macon Georgia so I perfectly relate to what you wrote. I had to move to NC in pursuit of education and where I currently live.. My problem with you is this. There is no need protecting your identity and lastly you might actually be away for a very long time except God of Joseph remembers you.. Stay strong and build yourself mentally.. Truth be told there's little or nothing anyone can do as long as it's that racist Georgia.. Forgive my long write up but I want Nigerian youths to know this.. You guys are strong, brave and hustlers forget anything.. You see those young guys especially in Atlanta, Douglas, infact the whole of Georgia down to South Chicago, they are the real lazy youths.. All they do is stereotype, rape, kill, drugs and baby mama and breaking and entry.. Good morning people.. Let me add this, there's no hospital in Baltimore that you won't find a Nigerian doctor.. Not one

His name is Adedoja Olaniyi Bah, 32, was convicted on 12 charges including rape, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, two counts of child molestation, two counts of aggravated child molestation, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, terroristic threats. You see I advise people when they come to America, becareful from women or always ID them because they are young but look older and big. It's not like Nigeria you can say hello to women on the streets anyhow. He must have done same while in Nigeria and got away with it. Their women and our women are not the same thing.
