People who went through school but never truly got educated... They abound in all sectors: Law, Engineering, Pharmacy, Music, just name it. 1 Like |

My Daddy wants me to be a Doctor. My Mummy wants me to be a Doctor. So I became a Doctor. This is the result. If u ask this Doctor now, he will tell you he never wanted to study Medicine let alone practice Medicine. Probably he wants to be a Musician Parents please don't push your kids to study what you want them to study. Let them choose for themselves. They should counsel him and tell him to pursue what he really wants to do in life. Me that did not even study Medicine, I have treated so many patients battling several ailments from Cancers, Diabetes, HBP, Chronic Sickle Cell (now turned AA, my best testimony so far), Kidney Problem, Glaucoma, Stroke, Ulcers, Eye Infection name it just from using Regenerative Medicine and they are all doing fine today. When God has called you into something, you jus find yourself doing that thing one way or the other even if u initially didn't study it as ur first degree. God will just position u there after school one way or the other and every patient your hand touches will testify. That has been my testimony. God is really POWERFUL. Now I'm thinking of going to get a second degree in the Medical World. May God help me becos this too journey long. |

Cappoditutti:Taking of blood sample is easy to learn even for a non medical student so why should a doctor be unable to take blood sample after almost 8 years training. |

It isn't uncommon to meet certified docs, nurses, pharmacist etc that don't really know the job on the onset, these can be related to theories with little clinical training, i remember when i started working i found it strange, it took a few to get better, but now i am heading a ward in my hospital as a nurse even though it is a private hospital but our services are standard as we recently passed inspection, his case maybe different but he only worked for a week 5 Likes |

LZAA: You clearly don't understand the basis for differential diagnosis... I have seen well trained and renown consultants check medical books for correlations and symptomatology even in the midst of clinical activities. There is no shame in getting better clarification on medical issues while making clinical decisions, and Google happens to be the quickest reference library for all professionals especially physicians. It is nothing but sheer and misguided arrogance for any professional to think he is so well versed that he fails or refuses to cross-check other references or even ask other colleagues especially outside his area of specialty. 17 Likes 3 Shares |

LZAA: Okay... I get that. However, if the doctor is pressed for time and in an emergency, he may have no other choice. Sometimes, he might even have to call in another specialist to assist in the diagnosis! Medicine is not an exact science! 1 Like |

mmsen: Thanks for the needless insult.... You still failed to answer the simple question... What makes a European nation's medical school bad or worse than that of Nigeria, especially where the former has a far better healthcare?!! You can see that I wasn't even the one who made the comparison to begin with... You can't just condemn any nation's medical degree without proper evidence! FYI, I have never condemned or downgraded Nigerian medical schools or their products. Never!!! |
Re: Francis Megwa, Nigerian Doctor Who Knew ‘Near Nothing’ Faces Panel In Ireland by mmsen: 11:11am On Oct 19, 2021 |
arantess: It really depends on the school. It's not as simple as saying that because a person went to country X that they will have done the real work required to become a trained doctor. |

He was trained in Romania and Una stamp 'Nigerian' for the headline simply because of his origin. Is it that people just like associating Nigeria with bad things? |
Re: Francis Megwa, Nigerian Doctor Who Knew ‘Near Nothing’ Faces Panel In Ireland by Angelfrost(m): 11:14am On Oct 19, 2021 |
Litmus: Nope!!!... I still don't get the relevance of that question or how it answers mine! There are quacks everywhere in the universe, even in the most developed nations on Earth, and there are well read and trained professionals even in the most underdeveloped nations on Earth. So, on what grounds do we write off Romania with regards to producing medical doctors of prestige?!!... And what or where is the documented evidence for such position?!! 1 Like 1 Share |
