Hello Nairalanders, I am new here. does anyone knows or have used Victor Ola's "NO IELTS TO CANADA GUIDE"
I really need reviews and clarity and suggestions for colleges and universities on post graduate diploma courses in Accounting for 2.2 bsc holder. I and my sister are planning to use study visa for processing to canada. I just want to know others who have crossed to Canada with the same process the can be of help to us.

i will like to meet @lekiboboe and justMellow.

I also like to meet anyone studying or aspiring to study in University or colleges in calgary, Alberta
As regard the bolded,

Refer to this post

PG. Cert in Accounting and related programs
https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/247#103188415

Be sure a PG.CERT in Accounting is the right program for you before you apply.

If your work experience is not in anyway related to your Accounting degree, you are expected to go for a PG.CERT program related to the Job you are doing. E.g. A Microbiology grad. with 5-years work experience in the banking industry going for a PG.CERT in a Microbiology related program, there is no CAREER PROGRESSION in that, and that can bring about a RED FLAG on a CANADA STUDY VISA APPLICATION, such applicant is expected to go for a BANKING related PG.CERT program.

The ghost update of a thing is confusing. People give it different descriptions. Isn't it normal to log on to your account, and things didn't change from the last time? Is that a ghost update, too? Someone should please make this thing very clear, please

Hello Toceen

It's possible a younger sibling can be a sponsor to an elder sibling, it's just a rare occurrence.

Peace
Toceen2022:

Boss, you mentioned Elder blood siblings...
Does that means a younger blood sibling can't sponsor his elder brother, if both are mature persons.
(for instance, a blood brother of 29 years sponsoring his 34 years old brother, possibly because he has more money)

Ghost update is simply getting an email notification that there is an update in your account, whereas no update of any kind when getting into your account..

Unfortunately, it's a refusal. I feel so down right now.
So sorry about this development. Try get your GCMS notes so you can see the VISA OFFICER statement on your GCMS notes on why your application was refused so you can be able to tackle it.

By the way, I can remember you said you had a B.SC in Nigeria and going for another B.SC in Canada, unfortunately the chances of getting approval via this is very slim cos it shows no academic and career progression. A Visa Officer would easily assume that you just want to japaa, and conclude that your purpose of visit to Canada is not to study.

In your best interest and a way to convince a Visa Officer in your re-application, if you have a 2.1, opt. for Masters program in a field related to what you studied as an undergraduate. If its a 2.2, opt for a POST GRADUATE CERTIFICATE program (PG.CERT), in a field related to what you studied as an undergraduate.

All the best in your re-application

Hello everyone,
Thanks to all the guru's in the house for taking out time to answer all questions most especially, from we newbis. God Bles you guys.

I got a positive response from my potential supervisor, she even suggested that I mention her name during my submission of application to the school.

Now, My worry is, she never made mention of funding or tuition waiver. I am a bit skeptical to ask, since she said, first thing first, I should go a head to submit my application.

I don't know when it the right time to ask if the research is going to be funded.

I'm going for my Masters (research based )

Since you confirmed that she gave you a positive response, most especially, if the response has to do with "Your Profile looks good, and i will be anticipating to have you in my research group/lab but first thing first you need to submit an application and also mention my name as your supervisor", you are at liberty to ask if the thesis-based graduate program (MASTERS/PHD) gonna be funded. There are cases where some Professors forget. Interestingly, some schools post on their websites about Tuition, financial aid for their thesis-based graduate student.

Hello Kelchy

Guess you would have gotten responses to your query, but lemme chip in one or two things,,

Yes, your Uncle can be your sponsor... Even though Uncles/Aunts are considered 3rd Party sponsors, but in your case, the Visa Officer won't see him as a 3rd party sponsor, the reason is that he has shouldered the responsibility of taking care of you right from when you lost your parents as a little gurl.. He took care of your education right from when you were a child till when you left his house to get Married....

So he is more or less your parent... So making him your sponsor is so on point. What you will just need to do is to state all these in your application so the Visa Officer can know he has been your "Father figure" since the demise of your parents..
You can attach your previous school fees receipts or any other beneficial expenses he would have made on you in the past, I am sure you have pictures of both of you, attach as many as possible... Your uncle in his Letter of sponsorship should also state how he has been sponsoring you since when you were a child and how he is ready and committed to sponsor you to Canada just the way he has been doing for so many years. If you do your homework well, you should have a problem with your application as regards sponsorship..

And to your statement of account, it's, not compulsory for an applicant to submit SOA, we have seen many applicants here stating in their timeline that they didn't submit their SOA and they still got approved. So if you wanna submit it, good. If not, fine..
It's only compulsory for Self-sponsored applicants to submit their Statement Of Account...

Peace
kelchy:
Please guys, someone should really advise me. This is the third time I am posting without getting any response.

I finished school in 2012, studied Business Management but want to apply for HR and I ahve been working in HR for over 6years.

My concerns are can my uncle act as my sponsor ( my parents died when I was little and he was the person who trained me in school and I lived with until I got married) because I'm currently 32 years.

Will I have to show my Statement of Account?

If Yes, what's the minimum balance that you can advise to be in it.

Thanks fam.

Please Bob, I am still waiting for your response here.

Since you are paying your first year fees and opening GIC account then there will be less scrutiny of the sponsors, you can still add them, present their salary statement of account, pension statement this will show they are gainfully employed covers source of income.

Good evening house. Thank you for your endless opinions.

My 1st refusal reason was due to funds. And now I did submitted BMS of over 46m and assets of over to 30mil. All to be sponsored by my parents.

But I still got a second refusal on October 14. I got confused sef on the other grounds they pointed because I see it as irrelevant.

This makes it 2 refusals this year...we keep pushing expecting my gcms note....

Might try again....

But thank you
this is suprising but I need 2 ask.Did ur parents make commitments like paying ur school fees and sending money to ur account ?. U can share Docs submitted. also request 4 ur GCMS note. Also what did ur GCMS note 4 the 1st application say and how did u address it?

It was financial status that was stated on the gcms note I received then.

Was this reason (home ties)stated in your first refusal or simply based on finance? I used to think the vos can't come up with a refusal reason that was not previously stated before. Nawa for these peeps o. Order ur notes to understand the actual concerns

I sent you a mail. Please I want to ask a few questions about your msc actuarial science applications.

Thank you

You're taking the right step. Book for your medicals and biometrics and get a date. All things being equal, you'll get biometrics instruction letter a day after submitting your application. With this, you can do both medicals and biometrics before returning to your base.

Ghost update is when u get a mail from IRCC that ur application has a new message or update and that you should check ur GCKEY only for you to open it and see no message or change in your application.

it means ur application is being worked on by a Visa officer and probably something has been updated but it does not reflect on ur GCKEY.

I never got one till I got PPR but some ppl get even up to 5 ghost update before their application is finalized

Thanks for this. Will look through for the detailed writeup. I will still revert for answers if I have questions because I don't want to stay near mentally unstable people. Thank you in advance smiley smiley

SuomyNona:

Hi, I gave a detailed and lengthy answer about preparation, airline search and airport processing on my previous posts. You can check my post on August 27th through my profile, it is on the first page of my posts (like 6 posts before this) and you will easily locate it.

For temporary accommodation, I will advise Airbnb for the first week or two. Then you can search and inspect permanent accommodation later. It might seem expensive but it is better to inspect in person before moving in.

For example there are 3 rooms in my apartment, I pay the least amount, got the biggest room and the one with the best view (I live downtown and can see the Toronto skyline through my window). The other tenants booked before landing and did zoom video to inspect. However, I inspected the place my self, selected the room I wanted and bargained directly with the person in charge to get 20 CAD discount if I am to sign 6 months agreement.

Also some of this online listing can be tricky, you may not know the real condition of the place until you inspect it physically, feel the vibe of the neighborhood and surroundings (Is it quiet or rowdy). One shocking thing is that Toronto is filled with squirrels and a lot of homeless/mentally unstable people. And some neighborhood are not advisable to stay in.

Also you have to consider bus stations. A place that is less than 5 minutes walk to a bus stations, street tram or subway station is advisable. Winter is coming...

Are you requesting a reprint or it's a first time request? This is a reprint. A student went to the admin office to make enquiry but was told there is nothing they can do.

O yes, I am a Ladokite. The platform has been down for weeks now and all my efforts to get my transcript has been abortive. I just hope someone will be able to give an hint on how to go about it.

LAUTECH transcript portal is different from the undergraduate portal.

Thank you so much for the response, the website is for distance learning. (ODL)

Please any other person with a good information on way forward will be highly appreciated.

Hey Bro,

Please can you recommend Finance Courses for a friend who finished with a 2'1 (3.17 out of 4.00) Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a University in Ghana. She graduated in 2018 and currently works in Financial Control at the HQ of a major bank in West Africa for the last year. She's not interested in doing accounting anymore so she'd rather focus on Finance. Thank you so much for all you do.

From my own understanding and personal experience, you would get an LOI when your passport is stamped, this has nothing to do with VFS in this context. VFS has business on the how your Passport would to get to IRCC, and how they gonna get it back after stamping. They would still send you the LOI.
