Greetings fams!

Do Canadian universities most especially, university of Saskatchewan accept 2:2 equivalent for Nigerian medical student? Though the transcript is not graded.

The said student has secured supervisor with funding. Please, help with any information you might have about this. Thank you.

Hi

Google can help you with that , or better still visit Universitystudy dot ca , and use the search box, you will find PHD in Civil Engineering Programs there.

Endeavor to read posts in the link below,

and apply it to your own Research focus (water resources and environmental engineering)
and Area of Study (Civil engineering)

USA as well is a good place to get FULLY-FUNDED GRADUATE OPPORTUNITIES. Go to the Naira6 USA visa thread, and make enquiries

Thank you, I appreciate

Hi Everyone,

I applied to NSCC for a diploma in Business Administration, although I have had a study gap for 11 years due to work. I have a Bachelors degree in Economics with a 2:2, I have already paid a deposit of CAD1,000 to save my seat for September 2021 program but deferred to January 2022. I want to know if it's ok to go ahead with the SP application and I just saw on the platform that I should have filled out the IRCC Webform stating my deferment.

Is it best to withdraw and look for a PGD program or do I still have a chance to continue the application process as I have committed financially?

I will appreciate an honest response

Thanks in advance

Good day Sola,

I have a friend with your exact academic background. Civil( structure), MSc( structure) now doing his PhD as well in structure. Now his first degree, he came out wt 2.2( 3.26/5.0), his Msc was excellent and now doing is PhD. What he did was, he has done 4 published research, 3 seminars with 8years of civil engineering experience. I guess his research and experience paved way for him. So do you have any research to your name?( Not your normal BEng or Meng projects)

To start with, you need to start looking out for schools and writing to potential supervisors whose research areas resonates with what your want to do or researches you have done before and would like to further on. As for the schools, our able Lekiboboe will be of immense help. Chat him, he will surely deliver. But then I don't see your 2:2 hindering you from securing research slot with a supervisor and funding. Just package your mail that you will send to supervisors. Hint more of your excellent masters and researches and the need to research more in his or her field which aligns with your research interests.

Less I forget, he also did GMAT to boost his chances

Wait for gurus to throw more light

Thanks Ketima,
I have 2 journal publications from My Msc thesis for now.
Thanks, I am working on the info shared here by Lekibobo & Elenewton1.
I pray I find favor

Have you tried again, refresh the page and reenter the details. It did so mine too, though I called them at the point when they updated to have handed over the passport to DHL and DHL said they haven't picked up but DHL later updated the same evening.

I understand the anxiousness but it will be processed and sent back.

Since 29/10....it has been 'processed passport forwarded to Canada Visa Office'

I should just relax, bah?

Hi Ketima,

I understand where you’re coming from but you also have try to put yourself in his shoes. He said he got the ppr but was pained because his admission had already expired. Please he was pained. You don’t know if it’s just this week he could pick himself up from that pain and forge ahead. Saying this from a good place, please do not get upset with my response.

Ketima:

First, let me state that it was so wrong of you that you got PPR and you never cared to come to share in the group that helped you so that others can learn and see how and what you did differently. you only come back cos you need help from the same group again. nevertheless, the group will always be there for each other.

Now to your question, Since the school has said you can apply for a new application for fall 2022, I think you may have a chance of securing admission since you did for the first time. if you secure admission since in the same DLI and same course all you need is to update IRCC and inform them of the new LOA (via mail and webform). But if you should apply to another DLI and get a new LOA, you will start your visa application from scratch again as stated by IRCC ( so long as the change of DLI was from outside Canada).

my opinion though

wait for gurus to guide you propoerly.

Almost all universities in Canada dont accept 2.2 as you may likely not meet the admission requirements for the intended course. Your best bet is a pgd. Although people have secured the admission with 2.2 but the chances is slim.

Securing funding with a 2.2 is another miracle with very slim chances of happening.

Again your best best is a PGD.

The bolded would have gotten you a denial based on purpose of visit. The study gap doesnt matter if you are able to show work experience within that 11yrs. Furthermore, a PGD would have been your best bet so please have your school change the course to a PGD progrm related to your work experience.

Look for courses related to bolded. You stand a better chance with it. The customer service experience would also come in handy if you choose a course that has both skill sets required.

I am so cool with this info. Really helpful.
Gracias.
Regarding cost it living in Canada, do u think $300 will sustain me in Canada for a month?
Better still, how much is your monthly expenses in Canada in term of food, accommodation, transportation, data, electricity and water?

Ketima:

Hello Sayittome,

I can see you're so much concerned about getting a job and finance once in Canada. In fact, all international applicants worry about that a lot.

Now personally, the way I advise people as I was advised and based and in addition to what PapaObi said. Canada is a country where provinces have their minimum wages. as a student, you're permitted to work 20hrs/week

Now moving to Canada as an international student, please try and have money that can help you pay between three to 4 months of your stay once you get to Canada. The reason is that you will need the first three months to balance and put school stuff in place, get accommodation and all that. mind you getting a job first three months isn't that easy as a newcomer who doesn't know around yet. but that doesn't mean you cant oo. a lot has gotten it so you can if you try.

Then as per making money, for example, a student in Saskatchewan works 20hr/week(Minimum wage). so d the calculation and know the least amount to make in a month. then considering your living expenses lifestyle, you do the rest of the maths.

on a lighter note. try pack enough foodstuffs that can last long for you ooo lol

(20x11.81)4 = 944.8/month
