I lost my job last 2 months and its been a hard time getting a new job. That's besides the point. I asked this question for strictly married women who knows how to manage a home.

If u don't have an advice for me then please its best u keep quiet
You forgetting that not only married people know home economics. As long as there is food in huge quantity in storage, then 4k can be managed for Lil buying. Only a very prudent person can actually do this in this present dammed economy.

How is that even possible in these hard times?

Is he that poor or just simply wicked?

There is no way 4k will be enough, the kid's snacks alone will gulp half of it. Not to talk about the kid's provision.

Give him the 4k to buy the foodstuffs and after cooking it don't serve him any.

Abeg that man need flogging.

Oh OK. Kai 4k is really low for a week. Its not easy but strive to get something doing so no human will limit or confine you to a meager upkeep and you DA also support d family. What God cannot do does not exist. You can discuss with hubby so you guys can buy in bulk.

Get a job so that you'll have yours to add to it. Things are difficult for most people in this country right now.

I really appreciate this. Though, they will still eat morning and evenings when they get back from school. The money cannot be enough in that sense.

It cannot. Except you want to be giving them only pap and cabin biscuit. cry

Just buy beans and sweet potatoes put for house. No go stress yourself.

Sometimes you make beans, sometimes you boil some sweet potatoes, sometimes you make bean and sweet potato pottage, then sometimes you just fry some sweet potatoes.

This is strictly for married women

Please how can I manage 4k for a week? I have 2 kids, one is in primary 3, the other one is in nursery and they go to school each day. Will it be possible?
Please mothers on nairaland, how will you stretch it for 7 days especially when there's no foodstuff in the house

What kind of timetable is that? I planned on buying irish potato to fry for snacks but just a bottle of groundnut oil will finish the money.
Please I'll be happy if you can also draw a timetable for me
I will show my husband this thread so he can see what everyone thinks of the amount he gives me.

Does he earn much and gives u a paltry sum

For those saying the man ain't trying, have u asked how much he earns, would someone earning 20-25k give all to his wife to be a good dad Without considering his T.fare, savings for school fee nd rent fee..

Madam OP, u know better and please don't push him close to his coffin, u could start something small or services to assist...

All hands no dey equal....

That decision is between her and her husband to discuss for themselves. undecided

I am simply asking if she has a source of income or job she can pull resources from in order to help out. After all, the family is also hers. undecided

Does taking care of the kids and house not show that it's her family too? That is enough work as she doesn't have the finances to contribute at the moment.

Is there such a thing as "enough work" where your very own family is involved? undecided

In single-parent homes for instance, you find single mothers/fathers who take care of their kids, and house and also work.... so what in the world do you mean by "that is enough work ...."? undecided

Would you have known if truly she doesn't have then finances to contribute if I hasn't at least inquired about her employment status? undecided

Your comment implied that she's not contributing anything as it's her family also. When indeed taking care of the kids and house is a contribution.

As she said, she lost her job and they are currently managing on the man's income, which is something that happens sometimes.

Her issue which she raised is that her husband thinks she's lying about 4k not being enough for a week. But as usual, you are not being empathetic because you cannot relate to such issues.
