Congratulations Vivian!

Please, I have a couple of questions.

I see you included your pension statement as part of your POF. Did you also include the reference letter from the PFA that says you can access 25% if you have been out of work for 4 months? What percentage of your entire POF is the pension?

[quote author=lilsss post=107304583]Hello all,

I wanted to ask what the chances are of getting rejected after medicals have been passed and how long it takes before you get called for PPR because this wait na die ooo.

I got the call for medicals on the 16th of September.
Medicals sent to IRCC on 27th of September.
Medicals passed on the 28th of September.

Since then it has been silence.

1 month and counting has passed.

I applied on June 7th. Had to defer admission to January but the time is flying and ticket is going up and up. Should I just buy the ticket now?

I sent them my new letter of acceptance and new passport since the old one is expiring and I didn't expect it to take this long. Its going to 5 months now.

Honest to God I am tired. I found this site maybe a little over a month ago and reading people's messages and timelines has been keeping me going. I finally decided to message today.

Abeg I need advice or motivation.

In a similar situation
Biometrics June 1st
Medical requested (for my children) September 22nd and passed September 30th
Sent webform and email after discovering this group about 3 weeks ago, thanks to Makano and Ketima who graciously guided me
The posts here have been really encouraging
The wait is not funny but I trust God to show up for us, am very expectant and we shall testify shortly

REFUSAL GROUND:

The generic reason was Purpose of visit.

The GCMS note buttressed it:

1) Applicant has a higher degree than proposed study in Canada.

2) Proposed study in Canada does not relate to Career and previous study.

Note my proposed study is PGC in Project Management.

I did a detailed LOE to address the note.

For 1) I have a Bsc in Geology and going for PGC hence my proposed study is definitely higher. That was an error on their part. I submitted my Wes evaluation report which I did for EE just to show what my current level of degree is.

2) I studied Geology and I am a Well completions Engr. I explained how my course of study was a pre requisite to gain employment as a trainee engineer in my firm. worked for some years and transitioned from core technical roles to business development and management of projects in my department. I extensively explained why I needed the study to progress further in my career since I already have on the job trainings in my career, hence imperative to back up my skills with the right certifications. I provided my promotion letters to buttress that and also submitted a confirmation of employment letter from my organization (on company letter head paper signed by the HR) that outlined all my job roles from joining the company at my different designations, this letter also showed my annual salary.

Then I backed it up with fervent prayers, fasting, seed sowing, kingdom evangelism, midnight prayers and praises to God. My major bible verses were Obadiah 1: 17, Mark 11:23, Zechariah 4: 7.

That is pretty much the little I did and God did the greatest and perfected this imperfect application to success.

Note:

After the refusal on the 17th of June, my spouse and I decided to go ahead and activate our plan B which is the UK. I immediately started my application for Msc Project management. I got admissions and decided to go with one of the schools, paid the tuition deposit, family went for TB test and it was on the day I was picking up my TB test certificates that I received my GCMS notes. I immediately told my husband that I will have to re-apply to Canada since the VO concerns did not hold water and maybe they did not review the employment documents I submitted. It was not easy to convince him but ....

Do not give up on this journey. The wait can be daunting but you have to be steadfast. While preparing for application submission, it’s important to plan the POF part right in time, (it is a major refusal grounds), read / research as much as possible.

Thanks to everyone that is contributing to our numerous questions here. I must say I learnt so much from this platform and that was a major boost for my DIY. If you can do it yourself, please go for it but if you do not have the confidence or maybe do not have all the time, please use a licensed agent and possibly a guru in this field.

I wish everyone all the best on this journey. God will perfect it for everyone awaiting PPR in Jesus name, Amen.

You are next in line for this awesome testimony.

Unto the next!!!

No be so o. You bag approval you lock up. You get problem you open up. God dey sha, las las na to give us lamba say you dey busy abi you just join the thread. regardless, If you sent you passport to abuja you should get it in a week excluding Saturday and Sundays. Usually takes longer in lagos (up to 2 weeks or more). The preferred way is to put all the required documents in a brown envelope and send it via courier.

Hello Mindful,
Thanks alot.

I only submitted the quarterly SOA for my pension which had about 10M, then did the calculation for the 25% and stated that i would be entitled to it 4 months after I have left work and that 25% is the only part I added to my POF total. Hope you get what I mean...

MindfulV:

Congratulations Vivian!

Please, I have a couple of questions.

I see you included your pension statement as part of your POF. Did you also include the reference letter from the PFA that says you can access 25% if you have been out of work for 4 months? What percentage of your entire POF is the pension?

Hi please I need help my study permit expires Aug 31 and classes ends around Aug 20 which means I result can't be out before Aug 31 for me to apply for PR. I was thinking of applying for an extension but I don't have valid reason because classes ends before expiring day

Lekiboboe:

Hi,

Check the Website of the college offering the PG.CERT program you wanna go for, you would see their Admission requirements there and how to apply. If you are still having challenges in applying, send a mail to the international department or admission office of that college, they would respond to your enquiries.

By the way,

Go through the contents in the link below to see:
Potential Documents needed to apply for admission in a College for PG. Cert (Most especially at Ontario Colleges)
https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/221#103080983

Things you should take note of

Make sure the PG.CERT program you want to apply is related to what you studied in your school (If you are a fresh graduate or graduated two to three years ago) or your Work experience

Very Importantly!!! Make sure the college you gonna be applying for the PG.CERT program to is a DLI (Designated Learning Institute) and offers PGWP (Post Graduate Work Permit). Don't make a mistake of applying to anyhow school(that is not a DLI and does not offer PGWP) even if they have a program of your choice.
