In my own opinion, it is always satisfying to be truthful.
You actually don't have any gap as you said that you were doing your make-up business. That in itself is enough. Besides, I don't think you owe anyone an explanation on the choice you make in your life especially when it does not concern your official visa requirements. So your employment status should not be a problem as it is your choice to be self-employed. I have seen the testimony of many self-employed and even unemployed people here, so I don't think it is an issue. Don't just do anything that will make your application look suspicious.

Stellagabu:
Good afternoon everyone ,

Please I resigned last year December basically because the company had so many issues, however I have been doing my makeup business (registered) and enrolled for my Sphri classes in March (meaning I haven’t been idol )

now here is the question,I am trying to apply for a study visa (Post graduate certificate HR Management 2 years ) and I am worried my employment status might be a problem .

My boss is willing to give me payslip if I choose to say I am still employed but of cos the salary payment won’t reflect in my account . So I am guessing this might be a problem

Please I want to know how to close up this gap in my SOP.

Should I simply state I am still working with my offer letter and all and not provide payslip ?

Or

Should I state I am on study leave for 2 years which started January 2021 in other to conclude my masters in Nigeria and Then decided to go to the uk initial by September but changed my mind to go for PGC course in Canada since my leave period isn’t over .

(Truly I just concluded my masters in Nigeria and my certificate is stating February 2021 . Also ,I got 3 admissions for uk for Sept 2021 and just decided to try Canada )

Please I don’t want to complicate my application Someone please help me .

Good Day Gurus.

I need your advice on behalf of my brother. He has B. Eng (Mechanical Engineering) which he obtained in 2012 at 2:2 level. He has never worked for someone since he graduated, rather he has been into private business since then.

He is now planning to further his studies in Canada with interest in Welding and Fabrication, in one of the colleges, at Diploma level. I am afraid that this may not fly for the purpose of obtaining SP, considering the 9 years study gap and current occupation. I want to advice him to try PG in Global Business.

I need advice on the best route he should pursue.

Make una help me oo, my student's application is now 6 months and no decision yet, eligibility started more than 3 months ago. We have sent mails to different offices but they're saying the application is under active review. We also sent to MPs, but the MPs are not responding.

If your to say based on experience which region is best to study in Canada , as someone got Admission at newfoundland and he is getting discouraged by a friend that Ontario is the best. *What did you have to say in this*
Secondly, any school you know for management student at low cost/scholarship without GRE or GMAT

Get your enrolment letter that shows you have started class already online. If you've done any exam or test and you have been graded, attach it too.

Thanks a lot. Your PPR is on its way by God's grace.

Tomorrow, being 9th November, makes my application six months. I have sent a lot of email to all the IRCC's processing centres around the world and raised web forms at different times; yet, I got the same response: "your application is under active review..."

I have also applied for my GCMS note since September 18th, but I'm yet to get it. But I've written to the MP representing the constituency where my school is situated for his intervention. One of his assistants responded to my email and obliged to call IRCC to inquire about the status of my application, which she actually did and gave me a feedback on. See the email contact of the MP representing Ontario Province below, that's if your school is located within the province.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Omiinii: 5:19pm On Nov 08, 2021
It doesn't EXPLICITLY say persons with HIV will be rejected visa. I am of the reasoning that HIV isn't a threat to the public and won't be a burden on their healthcare so with that logic. It wouldn't be a problem. If the said individual does medicals and it's passed. Then it confirms my theory as I know US doesn't consider HIV a life threatening disease. I expect canada to follow suit.
Readytowear:
Good afternoon house.
Please does anyone know anybody with HIV that has been approved for the Canadian student permit?
And how they went through it.
Thanks!!
Help someone today please.

Greetings great people. My student visa has been denied due to Personal assets and financial status. I have ordered for my notes for a month now and I am yet to receive it, beside I have a landed property and two cars registered under bolt as my business which I didn’t summit with my application because my agent discouraged me to, because he feels I am still young to have those, beside I’m 23. Please I need help on this, thank you

Sorry about the delay. Order for your notes and try to DIY this time.

PS you are old enough to own a business at 23.

Good afternoon everyone. Please I've been going through recent comments here about denials and the rest. And the most common cause I usually see here are LUMP SUM deposit. I would be applying for my study permit come Jan so I would like to know how to tackle the lump sum deposit issues. Like what amount can be considered as a lump sum in ones account? And what's the remedy to explain it in ones SOP if there's indeed a lump sum? Like what's the most commonest or MOST acceptable reason to explain your lump deposit to the VO? If there's a cash flow of let's say 100k to 400k monthly in ones account then 3 months to application there's about 3m in the same account. Can that be considered a lump sum? I'm thinking of submitting my Dom account statement of account along side my naira account. But my Dom account has been idol for months. How do you think I can explain the idolness of the Dom account? Or i shouldnt submit it?

Hello,

3m will be seen as lump sum in an account that the highest deposit is usually 400k once it is captured in your statement. If you have such, do well to explain the source.

Your responses will be appreciated.

Thank you very much, what response did you get from the assistant/IRCC?

"I spoke with IRCC today. I learned that your application is at the office in Nairobi. The medicals and criminal records check were completed and passed. Both are now on file. You may need an interview, but a final decision on that has not been made. If they require an interview, you will be contacted. IRCC has received the webform that you recently submitted, and it was added to your file.

To sum it up, the file is under review by IRCC and you now must wait for a decision. Currently there is no further action required on your part."

That's the feedback I got from the MP's assistant. May God quicken our testimonies.

What is the next step after getting PPR email or message and where can one submit the passport to get a fast response? Accra? Or VFS in Nigeria? What needs to be submitted with the passport?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Scott99tish(m): 6:07pm On Nov 08, 2021
Dear Stella,

I think what you need here is a strong and truthful SOP. No need hiding anything to avoid shooting yourself. Getting payslip when no money is coming in will complicate things for you.

You’re not the architect of your life or the company that collapsed.
Since your boss offered to give you payslip, then it means He/She can do this for you;

Get a reference letter proving how good you’re in your job but due to some reasons sha, company had to stop operation.
Attach your appointment letter.

Then show/prove that you went into being self employed and how you make your money to survive. This is important as VO will want to see how you survive till now and how you intend not to be a liability in Canada.
For your case, do not hide the masters you had in Nigeria as this can be a career progression to better your future since the job crashed as you are learning to advance the process.

Then link why you want to pursue your program in business so as to perfect some gaps you observed why the company crashed and how you want to better the process for yourself and business… You will need to show how the program will be beneficial in your homeland… I believe you will think of perfect way to write this part, Only you can.

However, Anything is possible…
Strong SOP will sort you. Just get GURUs in the house to review for you with more magical touch.

Regards
