Well that’s because you live in Lagos. If I live in Enugu and I marry Igbo woman for example, my kids will most likely speak more of Igbo because that is what they will need daily in Igboland to be able to have a convenient stay.

Now we are talking about USA, a neutral terrain where the first language basically is English. The indigenous language they ask people will be their ethnic one whether Yoruba/Igbo/Edoid languages.

Now if a Yoruba man get married to an Ibo man in USA and they ask the child what is their indigenous language, they might say Yoruba &Igbo or if they only need to say one for the sake of data, some might say Yoruba and some Igbo.

Hence, they will neutralize each other on both sides and they won’t still affect this data integrity.

Trust me if it had been that it was the Igbo that had larger presence than the Yoruba from the USA census, you will never see the Yoruba giving all this excuses you Ibos are giving on this thread. U.S. Consulate Launches STEM Training for 300 High School Girls in Osun State

Osogbo––The U.S. Consulate General has launched a new project aimed at empowering 300 high school girls in Osun State to pursue education and careers in STEM fields.

Through the project tagged “Osun Girls Can Code,” the 300 schoolgirls will receive training on coding, web design, and product creation, all key skills needed in today’s increasingly competitive job market. The goal of encouraging the role of girls and women in STEM fields has been the cornerstone of the technology-learning programs supported by the U.S. Mission in Nigeria.

Speaking during the inauguration of the project in Osogbo, U.S. Consul General Claire Pierangelo noted that the six months capacity building program will foster a supportive community where the young girls can receive mentorship, network and share internship opportunities in STEM fields.

Pierangelo explained that the “Osun Girls Can Code” program is one of the many initiatives of the U.S. Mission that seeks to ensure gender parity, and provide women and girls with opportunities to contribute to creating sustainable and inclusive economic prosperity for Nigeria.

“The United States promotes the rights and empowerment of women and girls in our foreign policy, and we have invested millions of dollars to advance gender equality across sub-Saharan Africa,” Pierangelo said.

There are more Igbo people in USA than in the UK, that's why Igbo people "claim" America. It has nothing to do with Yoruba people; we're not thinking about Yoruba people when we make that statement.

When it comes to the issue of success, I'll only accept what you do and not what you write. Yoruba people concede that Igbo people are more successful than them. I mean, I've had countless Yoruba people say it to me.

Whether that reality makes you feel comfortable or not is not my problem. It's your problem; you need to get over yourself. Yoruba people are doing alright, but if you really believed you were "better" than Igbo people, just like Northerner's, you'd be living in your own Odua Republic now.
