Some of us have commercialise our talents, especially guitarists, saxophonists, key boadrists and so on. Is it good to force Church to pay, rather than using and maximising our talents for God.

Is the preacher preaching for free??. Believe it or not he isn't. Though I'm not Catholic nor Jehovah witness these are the two ministry that the preachers do it voluntarily. Aside these ones please if you are doing anything in that centre if it requires you to ask for wages to make your mind be at rest please ask. Except you want to voluntarily do it then you should.

Go and check the correct meaning of commercialization before crying foul. It doesn't mean you are not to receive monetary rewards at all for services. Instead it means giving utmost priority to monetary gains at the expense of moral and ethical principles. sad

There are two things you need... Go into the world and make disciples of men

And love, worship and praise your God with all your heart, mind and strength.

If the church is like the church of old time where they lift each other's burdens then its ok to give back in service (for free) but if the church is run by a pastorpreneur, let everyone charge the business entity aka church for every single service given

This question ehn. Pastors dread it. I play bass but anytime I feel like making extra cash, considering my current church doesn't pay, I japa o.

And I tell them outrightly that I'm going elsewhere. They can't even object.

Talent was given to us by God but if that talent can put food on the table, best believe I'm commercializing it when and as I deem fit. They wouldn't ask a furniture maker to donate hundreds of hours to the church making furniture for free, would they?
