“Believe in Jesus”—Is Belief in Jesus Enough for Salvation?

Christians believe that Jesus died for the sins of humankind. (1 Peter 3:18) However, salvation requires more than believing in Jesus as Savior. The demons know that Jesus is “the Son of God,” but they face destruction, not salvation.—Luke 4:41; Jude 6.

What must I do to be saved?

1) You must believe that Jesus sacrificed his life for our sins. (Acts 16:30, 31; 1 John 2:2)
This includes believing that Jesus was a real person and that all of what the Bible account says about him is accurate.

2) Learn what the Bible really teaches. (2 Timothy 3:15)
The Bible says that the apostle Paul and Silas told a jailer: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will get saved.” Then, after that, they began to teach “the word of Jehovah” a to the jailer. (Acts 16:31, 32)

This indicates that the jailer could not truly believe in Jesus unless he had a basic understanding of God’s Word. He needed accurate knowledge based on the Scriptures.—1 Timothy 2:3, 4.

3). Repent. (Acts 3:19)
You must also repent, or feel deep sorrow, over previous wrong attitudes and conduct. Your repentance will be obvious to others as you stop practices that offend God and do “works that befit repentance.”—Acts 26:20.

4)Get baptized. (Matthew 28:19) Jesus said that those who become his disciples would be baptized. The jailer mentioned earlier was baptized. (Acts 16:33) Similarly, after the apostle Peter taught a large crowd the truth about Jesus, “those who gladly accepted his word were baptized.”—Acts 2:40, 41.

5) Obey Jesus’ instructions. (Hebrews 5:9)
Those who “observe all the things” that Jesus commanded show by their life course that they are his followers. (Matthew 28:20) They become “doers of the word and not hearers only.”—James 1:22.

6) Endure to the end. (Mark 13:13) Jesus’ disciples “need endurance” in order to be saved. (Hebrews 10:36) For example, the apostle Paul maintained strict obedience to Jesus’ teachings and loyalty to God, and he endured in this course from the day he became a Christian until he died.—1 Corinthians 9:27.

Bible verses about belief in Jesus and salvation

Matthew 24:13: “The one who has endured to the end will be saved.”

Meaning:
To gain salvation, people must maintain their faithfulness throughout their life.

Acts 16:30, 31: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will get saved.”

Meaning:
Belief in Jesus is necessary to attain salvation.

1 Timothy 2:3, 4: “This is fine and acceptable in the sight of our Savior, God, whose will is that all sorts of people should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.”

Meaning:
Belief in Jesus must be based on accurate knowledge of Bible truth.

Hebrews 5:9: “[Jesus] became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those obeying him.”

Meaning:
To gain salvation, people must both know and obey Jesus’ commands.

Religion na scam. You don't need to be saved from anything after death because there is no life after death.

Their scary hellfire "ojuju-Calabar" story is fake, they tell it to people in order to scare them into accepting their nonsense belief.

Their sweet heaven story, about a fine place with many mansions and seven virgins for men bla bla bla that one can only experience after death is fake. Only fools will believe that trash.

Yes.
But Believing is not a Feeling. It is FAITH that is backed with RIGHT ACTIONS. Even

"You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!" James 2v19

As you can see, just believing cannot save demons. So just believing without the right actions cannot save you. We should use the right actions: right thoughts+ right lifestyle, right speaking, right character, right attitude etc.
Dont fall for that cheap lie of the devil that once saved you are forever saved even if you daily live the life of sin. God cannot be mocked. The foundation of God stands sure: He knows those that are His own

I was expecting your list to reach 100 and not just this 6.

I don't know why we humans like to prove that we know more than the owner and giver of salvation that says this is my only simple requirement for salvation. We sha like to add our own ingredients to make it look hard to attain.

The subject of salvation in the Bible is specific and should be treated that way. Never mix it up with other subjects.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9)

The above is the gospel of Jesus that anyone that believes in it shall be saved (1st Corinthian 15:1-3)

Affirm the above with other scriptures like John 3:16, John 6:40, John 6:47, Mark 16:15 etc. Act 16:30-31 They all specifically say the same thing on the requirement for salvation

Did the dying thief on the cross in Mathew 27:38 also acted everything in this your long list before Jesus assured him of paradise?

That is why salvation is a gift that no man can work for. Not even Abraham attained it by work. Why are you now attaching work conditions to it?
Ephesian 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

no be so. Do not worship another thing with God is what you should say. Because God is a jealous God. So you are wrong to say worship what ever but put God first. The truth is worship nothing apart from God.

YES! It is!

A "genuine believe" in JESUS CHRIST As referenced in John 14:6 KJV points out clearly that, we human beings would have to make "genuine effort" by "putting sincerely into practice" all what our Saviour JESUS CHRIST Has asked us to do!

It is NOT by "recitation"; But by "genuine practical effort"!

Shalom!

Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Verse 11 talks about condemnation of the damned and 12 about the salvation of the saved. What did they do differently?
"...keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."

So, your faith in Jesus must be complemented by obedience of God's commandments.
Jesus would deny if all you do is say you believe in Him, yet you still live in sin.

AND HE SAID TO THEM "GO INTO ALL THE WORD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO EVERY CREATURES HE THAT BELIEVS AND IS BAPTIZED SHALL BE SAVED, BUT HE THAT BELIEVS NOT SHALL CONDEMNED ' (MARK 16;15=16)

Only Satan shall set you free, not Jesus. Jesus is not real.

The story of Jesus was copied from the snake/Satan (black savior) story in the book of Genesis, which is an ancient African creation story that has been told for thousands of years before they was even a God called Jevovah or Yaweh.

However, when white people came to world power from 332 BC, they blackmailed the black Satan of Genesis in order to create white Jesus who never existed.

If you really love your Jesus and want to know where the story began, go to www.africason.com and read the article that says "what is Satan? What is Lucifer? The biggest secret in the world

The thief did many things.

He gave justice where Jesus got injustice. He gave light while Jesus was plunged into darkness He condemned the evil while honouring and respecting the good.

Therefore, thief gave righteousness and did it

The thief did to Jesus what Jesus came to do for us.

Jesus gsve the good and got the good according to The Law!

That is why the thief made it.

So are your deeds good or evil?
