Three things you need to do urgently.
1.Pray for God intervention in the church.
2. Go to him and lay these issues before him. He may say its the flesh or he's battling with it or he repents or he justifies it with bible. the outcome will determine if you should report him to his superiors. through delegates or through a message . but treat with urgency

I will not call the name of my church for some reasons, but my church is that type that dosn't have a parmanent pastor.

So, we always have a new pastor almost every four or five years.

Recently, a new pastor was transfered to us, this my new pastor is very good when it comes to preaching the word of God, and things that helps in the development of a church.. infact, so many good things have been going 'on' in my church since his arrival.

But the problem is that, he is that kind of pastor with swag, He goes to beer parlour to drink, he can go to gathering to play draft, (imaging the kind of people u see in a beer parlour of draft gathering), and because of this things he does, some people (expecially other churches) use it against us the members..

People we be like, una pastor wey dey drink beer.. And we don't even know how we can deffend him or ourself when we are being attacked by these people..

We are currently loosing members on a daily basis, and i'm not happy with it.

As long as he doesn't drink to stupor, there is nothing wrong in drinking beer. The Bible does not condemn drinking, it however condemns excessive drinking because it can lead to debauchery and other such immorality.

I once pastored a church myself, and everyone knew I never joked with my Heineken and small stouts. Small stouts help me sleep well at night. These stuffs are medicinal if taken in moderation.

And as for the draught, as long as he doesn't stay there all day like some men, it is all fine. The Bible is not against entertaining oneself. If he enjoys playing draught, I don't see why pastoring a church should be a hindrance to such a harmless passion.

As a pastor, I was a great draught player in the neighborhood, just like my father was when he played the game. However, usually, people always visited at my house to play against me, so I was never at those public spots where those men usually gathered to play the game.

As for visiting beer parlors to drink, it still a matter of how he handles the drinking. But I would advise that he steers clear of beer parlors altogether. These places are not healthy for a believer. I consider visiting a beer parlor to be akin to taking your drinking to that spot which the Bible advised against, that point where your drinking can lead you into debauchery and other such immoralities.

It is bad for a pastor to go to a beer joint to take alcohol or even going to the beer parlour is not advisable. It may not be a sin outrightly to take alcohol, but he think of people that will be discouraged seeing him taking beer in beer parlour.

To the glory of God, I am a leader in my church, i take alcohol occasionally, but I rather do it far away from where church members can see me and get discouraged, to a secluded area that members may not likely be. Some of them know that I take alcohol, but they have not seen me doing it, apart from one of my Pastors.

It's not that I am hiding my drinking of beer from anyone, but I don't want those weak in faith and spirit to see me and get encouraged into it or get discouraged from church.

He is managing your offerings/tithes wells he must be a God fearing man not those ones flexing in jet and latest cars with members tithes/offerings.

Stop being hypocrite, your pastor is human and he knows what is right and wrong, beer parlour is not forbidden. What makes man sin is where he goes, what make man sin is what he does.... Scripture is clear about salvation. You and other hypocrites are the type that often ask where is it in Bible? Ask those who are mocking you and your Pastor where is it in the Bible that pastor should not drink in beer parlour. Stop being childish, like Brother James made us to understand that FAITH AND GOOD WORKS will merit your heaven. In as much is not a drunkard is possible is evangelizing and gaining souls to heaven not to earthly church.

Your pastor is flesh and blood like every other human; he has weaknesses and strengths.
As a believer and co-worker in the vineyard of God, you owe him prayers and support in good ways.
Bringing the matter here will not do him any good.

Wen I was serving in Kaduna, the new pastor that was posted to my church came to visit me..

He ask if I have movies, I should give it to him.. I brought all my DVD plate out.. Wen he saw Spartacus season 3... He said he love the movie that I should give him all the seasons.. You n I know hw sexual explicit that movie his..

I was even looking for a way to deceive him not to take it.. But he said it's his favorite movie.. grin
