it is surprising that they can treat international students this way, on this BRP delay crisis

Covid19?.... many things were impacted. Hospital waiting list, people waiting for operations/treatment, jobs, economy etc

Many people are working from home, managers had to reduce targets for staff, many workplace training are relaxed or not able to commence...

without BRP, you can't even be involved in or do any of these above listed things

The problems when covid don cause and is still causing are many, and in different areas.... the world just has to be patient and take it as you see it.

Interviews are not wins. You ll get to realize this in due time. Let me just say. In my opinion.

After reading your quote, I smiled. Anyone who isn't in an actual programming field cannot grasp the information you are passing. That is why context is important. IT is very wide, a project manager or scrum master might never experience what you are saying. Very rare.

I did 6 stages of proper coding / behavioral interview with a company and I was dropped at the 6th stage. I got sooo depressed big time. Interviews are useful for learning but until you get the job, it is nothing in programming field.

Went on a hiatus guys- sorry for my absence- was dealing with a divorce (we just grew apart chasing money hehe)

I’m trying to get a global talent visa (tech nation route). The hope is to get it and then create a thread that would teach others how to do it but I got rejected on my first application. The plan now is to try again (while addressing the mistake I made in my last application) or pay a lawyer (waste of money as I still have to explain everything to them anyway lol) angry

Doing the talent visa alone made me realise how invaluable just wise (however annoying he is), Lexus and lagosIMH are for their invaluable contributions to Nairaland (sorry you can’t use this for an endorsement but I appreciate you guys loads for all you’ve done and are still doing on Nairaland.. ok let me add ralphjean before he slaps me lol)

I’m back now sha. wink
Party time- the devil is back grin

For your Global Talent, how are you able to convince CEOs of you former companies to write a letter of endorsement for you?

Why did they reject your last application?

Most schools accept WAEC in place of IELTS from applicants from Nigeria

Thank God! Thank you.

Congratulations, I almost commented on how many people were mean and inferring absurd things like "I find it difficult why people cannot focus on their studies". If they said that to you would you be happy? haba

Sometimes this place can be toxic. Most of us are here for the same purpose to live and survive, now why is it difficult to help your fellow brother, but no you rather laugh at people's struggles.

May God guide you through going forward.

Amen and thank you.

Those words don't do anything to me. I get thick skin and coconut head. But I know there are people here with issues who are scared to speak up because of what these ones would say.

It's actually very mean more so when the insinuations are not true. One kept cumming in peace... I only hope the orgasm was worth it while it lasted.

Thank God for positive update

I agree.... some comments were really not necessary. Why must anyone assumed that it because someone was working instead of schooling. What if its because someone is dyslexic (like me) or not strong academically or had other issues.... why must there be a judge and a jury . Painting every situation with the same brush.

Let try to offer solution if we can , if we can't then keep it moving . Really glad to hear its sorted

Ma'am, alot were unnecessary. And you could see how it tilted the conversation from providing a solution to mockery. And funny, it's not the first time and by the usual suspects.

But that's their problem. I only hope we can learn from this as we build a stronger community.

Thank you again.

Good morning to everyone in the group, I'm Kolawole and I'm currently rounding up my MBA program. I've been looking for a placement company for January 2022 start for over five months now but my search has been unsuccessful so far as most placement is for the summer of 2022 and undergraduates. I've put over 100 applications in the last five months. Please if anyone can help me secure either paid or unpaid placement I will most appropriate because I don't want my VISA to be curtailed. Thank you.

My school accepts virtual placements from abroad. You can explore that option.

I’m assuming you are still in Nigeria. If so, why not convert your Naira to Pounds before leaving Nigeria? That way, you will have one less thing to worry about when you get to the UK.

Yes I will
Be travelling in a few month. I’m asking because I learnt there’s a limit of 10000 USD/7500£ On international travels . I don’t know if it’s safe to travel with that amount of cash in hand.

I see your point. Maybe travel with what you are comfortable carrying - enough to meet your cash needs for the first few weeks while you find your feet. Like someone earlier advised, there are a few people on this thread that could help you when the time comes - Lexusgs430 (Baba Jack of all trades grin grin), mamatukwas (GBP to NGN only), and omopapa (same as Lexus), to mention a few.

Convert your naira to pounds. Keep in a dom account. Bring along to the UK a reasonable amount that you can survive with for a few months. You can always transfer from your dom account to UK once you have an account in the UK.

With questions like this, personal experiences differ so expect contrasting opinions. With the Uk you are guaranteed visa but its quite an expensive route with 3 kids. for IHS+Visa fee you will pay roughly $650 x 5, when you are applying for post study you will pay GBP1,900 x 5(you hubby and 3 kids). Just trying to put it in perspective for you. Also am not sure as a student you can legally continue your freelance work . I know student visa are meant to stay away from gig economy jobs. You might want to research that further. After a masters in canada you have 3 years post study as against 2 years in the uk, you are eligible for EE and if you school is in one of the provinces that offer PNP, you might qualify for PNP(you might want to make it your criteria for choice of school).

Pls, permit my ignorant question... How will they know she is into Freelance jobs? I thought this will be done within the confines of her home without the authorities knowing.. I am just curious to know

Thank you. Are jobs easy to find there and what is child cost like?
