What you have heard is the boys story, have you heard from the woman? Is it her business that the boy was arrested? What if the boy was lying? Every school in Nigeria said you must complete your siwess why did he not complete it? Is she obligated to allow him without the siwess? The lecturer is wrong to attack him first with a mug. Why didn't she call the school security to escort the boy out if her office?

It's wrong to put all the blame on the young man. What's stops the lecturer to investigate through the school authority to ascertain if the young man has a genuine reason to miss whatever he missed. Making him to repeat a whole year is wrong.

The boy on his part have anger issues and should go for counseling.

If I'm the boy, I will take the school authority and the lady to court for dismissing him from the school. He's gonna win in court. The lady lecturer attacked him first.

inasmuch as a lot of people would condemn the student for beating up the lecturer, we choose to ignore the fact that some nigerian lecturers lack empathy, are unapproachable, rude and condescending. most of them vent on students, transferring the aggression from their personal problems on students. they dont have the ability and patience to listen, empathise and help students deal with personal issues which might be affecting their studies. from d story, why did the lecturer not spare a few minutes to listen to the young man and profer a solution to his predicament instead of outright dismissal?
