So my mom got biometrics request on Oct 21 and did the biometrics yesterday. I then submitted a new application via the new IRCC portal today and sent a webform to withdraw the previous application. They definitely haven’t started anything on it since processing doesn’t even start till after biometrics. Keeping my fingers crossed for a fast response.
One thing I noticed though, while answering the guiding questions, if you don’t qualify for exemption, you’re directed to the IRCC secure portal but if you qualify, it leads you to the new portal.

I applied post Sept 7 and shouldn’t have used GC key in the first place given that applicant has travel exemption and is coming for family reunification. It was exactly the day it clocked 2months of application submission (SEPT. 9) that I received my Passport request letter (NOV. 9).
Passport submission is only accepted through Courier.

School is better, and nobody can help you secure or guarantee visa approval except you want to fall victim of hisa fraud, study the process understand it first you will realize its not a cumbersome thing all you need is a dom account ATM card, laptop, a scanner and all the right documents, but anything fraudulent will only mess u up

Authorisation Letter request refused and information received that application will be processed normally. No update till the September 7th opportunity to resubmit. Resubmitted through the usual GCKEY September 11. Applied for AL the same day. Forwarded the Al application mail again October 29th. BVL and PPR November 10. Passport received today with visitor visa issued beyond spouse's study permit.

Because you mentioned PPR since October 10 and passport received today November 18, that is more than 5 weeks intervals between the date.

For those asking about the documents I submitted before an approval for a visitor visa to Canada application.

1. Marriage certificate
2. Her employment letter here in Nigeria (something to show that she'll still return to Nigeria, because technically she is expected to return to Nigeria since she is applying for visitors visa)
3. My Canadian bank account statement and her Nigerian bank account statement (I already made some transfers to the account about 2 million naira).
4. My employment letter and paystubs (since I am employed in Canada).
5. I also added some wedding pictures since we just got married recently, although I later learnt that's not necessary.
6. International passport
7. A scanned copy of My PR card
8. Travel purpose/letter of explanation (you can find samples of this with a simple google search.


For those who have submitted and are eligible, I think just a little more patience, I know a couple of persons who have gotten responses from the same period when I submitted the second application (September 9th).

PS: I also submitted a second authorization webform exactly a week before we got a PPR request.

Was a typo. PPR was received November 10th. Submitted through DHL to Abuja 11th and got it back today.

Lol stop panicking, use ilovepdf to compress. 2mb per file not 2mb for the total number of documents.
Webform is used when you have a new information to add or you probably missed out any docs while doing the application.

Definitely using Abuja if I receive PPR, Lagos sometimes gets up to 2 weeks

Walk into any DHL or UPS store, you can google & check for the one's near you.

This is the Address you will mail your documents to:

Documents to go with to the DHL Office:

- Two photocopies of your international passport data page
- Your International passport itself
- passport request letter
- Biometric confirmation slip (the document you were given after u did your Biometrics)
-Two copies of signed VFS consent forms

Put everything in a Big Brown Envelope,

Write your FULL NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NO. & Email Address on the Envelope boldly

When you go to DHL, also indicate that you want a two way courier service. Then provide them the address you want your passport sent to when ready.

If you use BA You’ll most likely have a connection in the usa that’ll require a usa transit visa or visitors visa.
