The Ibo slaves weren't as influential as their sellers thought. Even their children won't be happy to associate with the sellers after selling off their forefathers for paltry sums.
The Nembe people do not speak Ibo or Igbo or whatever confused name you choose, and the entire world knows, not just you. The dialect is simply referred to as Nembe.
Yeri ama ongu sun eki nimi tin. Please interpret the above in Igbo as you have said.

Read your comment again, and check it out yourself. It's filled with bigotry and envy. I don't know why you envy the Igbos because the culture spilled to other so-called regions and you Ijaws can't stand it. It doesn't make sense.

No form of bigotry or envy at all. You Ibos simply don't understand the meaning of boundaries and are always encroaching beyond your territory. Meanwhile I wrote something in a language you said was Ibo and instead of you to interpret it, you're trying to dodge it. Try interpret am now.

in the olden days, powerful chiefs will sneak into Igbo lands and adopt farmers, or your chiefs will adopt your people and bring them to a meeting spot to be traded with the Nembeians who were brokers(middlemen) during the slave trade. these Igbo slaves are then taken to ibani( Bonny) or akwa-akpa (cross river) and then put in white men ships and sailed to cultivate sugar Cain plantations in the Americas.

ikwerre is never Nembe.
ikwerre is a tribe on its own Mr Man. and Nembe do not speak ikwerre or opobo. stop spreading fake informations.
try and be learned, I won't be hard on you because you're ignorant. there are over 360 ethnic groups in Nigeria, (hausa , Igbo, Yoruba, ijaw, ibibio) are the top 5
now in each of this ethnic groups are tribes.
for instance in your Igbo, they have nsuka tribe or language, they have mbanno, arochukwu, etc, distinct languages and tribes but under the Igbo ETHNIC GROUP.

In the IJAW ETHNIC GROUP, we have (Nembe, ibani, okrika, kalabari, gbaran, opobo, etc) all are tribes and different language under the IJAW ETHNIC GROUP.
same goes for the HAUSA AND YORUBA.

Ikwerre isn't any where associated with the Ijaw ethnicity or Nembe.
go and read up and stop spreading fake knowledge.

the Nembeians never worshiped the aro deity. they only went to seek out spiritual aid during quarells and little problem, not because the powerful deities in Nembe like Anda-Osain, ogidiga, etc weren't powerful.
sometimes the chief priests were known to pervert justice and so to keep things clean, they travelled far so as not to adulterate outcome or answers.

Just forget about the Osus. This overbearing attitude is what makes them unwelcome in every corner they go for aid. They'll continue to seek for allies but won't find any until the unnecessary lies and chest beating are eliminated. In fact, with the damage done already, making allies in the next two generations sef go hard.

nigga stop being deluded, even the Igbo people refer to us as mba'mmiri, stop being stupid.
the Opobo, during the slave trade days, they had so many Igbo people who outnumbered them and became influential, these Igbo people didn't stop speaking their language and they covered the Opobo's. this was how they lost their language.
Jaja of opobo was an Igbo slave who was bought by an ijaw-opobo man. but has he grew wealthy and influential, the igbos grew with him and he subsequently became the ruler of opobo.

Nembe since time immemorial has been Nembe.
it is made of of 6 ancient clans (kalabiga ma biri, obolo'amabiri, opubigamabiri, onyo ama biri, Oro ama biri, and olodio ama biri) long long long long ago during the days they communed with mermaids.
nigga you can't be stupid.
all this ancient settlements are absolved into Nembe as you know it, Oro ama biri is the only existing clan from the old ancient Nembe long when Kings didn't rule, but halfmen half spirits.

and back to the ethnic group size thingy (hausa Fulani 29percent, Yoruba 21% ibo 18% IJAW 10%, KANURI 4% ibibio 3.5.

First, Igbo refers to other riverine Igbos are Mba Mmiri... Mba Mmiri is not an ethnicity but refers to a geographical feature and people living there. Mba Mmiri translates to "Riverine areas" or River people or people living around water. Both Igbos, Hausa or anyone living by the water is called, "Mba Mmiri".

Which of the Google? How did Ijaw become 10% of 200 million? Where did all the Ijaws go to? Are you counting spirits?
You have 4 LGAs in Bayelsa and 2¼ in Delta state. Bayelsa your home town is the smallest state in Nigeria in terms of population. So, small with only 8 LGAs and only 4 of them are Ijaws. and in the last census, Bayelsa is 1.7 million. if Ijaws are 900k minus the other minorities, where are the rest of the 19 million?

Ijaws are not more than 2.5 million and I am being generous.

So, Ijaws are more than Ibibios that have up to 15 LGAs to themselves alone? or Kanuri that owns Bornu and Tiv that are majority in Benue and with a very large population in Taraba, Niger and Nassarawa?

Boss, check am now.

your friend is deluded, even if she was decended from a captured slave, the Nembeians weren't careless like the opobo people...the Igbo slaves were quickly absorbed into Nembe and their children spoke the Nembe language. the Nembe culture and tradition was very strong. once a chief or a rich person buys an Igbo slave or from any other tribe, he or she will answer the name and will be inducted into the war canoe house and even renamed.

people can worship any god...
there was a group of warrior headed by Alepe several centuries ago who were subjects of the Olu of warri. they deserted the town after the Olu son died and they came to settle in Nembe over 800 years ago. these men also brought their god too to worship, so if any Nembeian worshiped Aro juju, it doesn't mean anything.
till date, whenever an Olu is crowned in warri, descendants of Alepe are sent as emisaries because Alepe was a major war chief which should be present.
some Nembeians worshiped Ikuba who was the god of kalabari also...

There are 3 Orlu/Oru based LGAs in Imo state alone. Oguta people are also Oru.
