Down to small things like the correct refill for AC to basic things like getting top quality tools. It's damned hard. Even Game that is supposed to be a major source for good tools sell rubbish.

All Hondas don't have the leg pull issue, and Honda civic doesn't pull legs. But, say, Honda accords from 2003 to 2008 had the issue that often happens due to poor maintenance of Nigerians plus our bad roads.

They fixed the issue in higher models of Honda accords.

Exactly what I told one of my clients in Calabar late last month who wanted to buy corolla for uber business. I ended up sourcing for grade A tokunbo standard Nigerian used car for him in Lagos and Abuja. I eventually got grade A Nigerian used Honda civic 2008 for him in Abuja, which I sold for N1.4M(my profit inclusive). I delivered it to him in Calabar early this month; he is pleased and enjoying it.

Check the engine if it hasn’t been worked on before, the AC (if it is not functioning then you should ask if it is the compressor or you would just need to fill up the gas) the efficiency of the gear selection and look underneath the car if it hasn’t had a major accident before. Ensure the papers are complete too. Wish you a profitable Uber business!

When it comes to Ruggedity, fuel economy, handling and resale value, Corolla is it.


However, the Civic is in its own class..

It's Cheaper to buy, Cheap to maintain, fuel economy is super, handles better than Corolla, easy to fix and better engine build.


Both cars are good for Uber.
If money is not a problem, go for Corolla else Civic is it.

However Corolla is a thief Magnet, 8 out of ten are stolen vehicle.

Honda parts are expensive, so if you don't have money you can't maintain it.

I partly agree with you on that. Toyota's parts seem cheap because the Chinese focused on giving its users inferior cheap parts steadily compared to Honda. Toyota's quality parts are not cheap and last longer than the cheap ones people buy.

The truth is, buying the original parts is more economical than buying those Chinese parts.

For example, you buy one original oxygen sensor for N5 and use it for 3 years or more but you will buy an inferior one for N1 for like 10 times(N10,000) in 3 years in which you will still stress yourself, waste money on labour and fuel.

Honda cars are prone to pivot joint issues. Run!!! GO for the TOYOTA

If you are buying an automatic, stick to 2004 /2005, if na manual, you can buy any year. Most people think every Honda product pull leg and the worst part is people advising against the car haven't use the car before. I haven't change my fuel pump before so no cause for alarm. If your are buying manual transmission, ensure there is always oil in the gearbox, I changed mine because I drove it long without gearoil, which affected the synchro, making the 2nd gear to pop out to neutral, so I decided to change mine.

For Uber work, nothing beats Corolla

Am driving a Honda Civic 2004 and ever since 5 months i never regretted buying it in all ramification u highlighted above. Peace
