Hello tinakem
I'm also thinking about using a fixed deposit certificate as POF but my salary account statement has a very low balance. I'm not sure there is even up to 2k in it

Huuummmm fixed deposit is good if u can get another acct that have inflow and outflow. May be u get sponsor. Will advise it should be immediate family. It has upper advantage than using third party sponsor but nothing is impossible though

I got the first request Sept 30th and didn't hear anything from them till Nov 3rd...I think you should still give ircc time and if after a while you still did not hear from them then you can start sending mail and webform, but be assured that your ppr is certain in Jesus name
Bobomaigida:

MP means member of parliament, most people reach out to them to see if they can help get updates on their application if the school they are applying to is under their constituency, If IRCC have requested for updated LOA from you, please go and chill your PPR is coming. No need to send MP any message again.

Wrong. Canada conducts TB test. I saw it on IOM website. During my medicals, I was asked if I have suffered TB or know anyone who has. Besides, I think that is what the X-RAY is for.

Thanks for your response.
I included our PPR letters. Well I was able to get through with vfs customer care. I was told that I’ll have to pay transmission for my son as well. I also paid 8920 instead 9410 for transmission fee. I immediately did that and send to a friend in Abuja to help me retrieve the parcel in DHL office in Abuja ( I checked and I found out the documents was still in abj)
A friend helped to include the new receipt and then drop the parcel @ same DHL . I pray they deliver 2 morrow
it was 8,920 I paid ooo.have they increased the price ?

To the new bees that want to apply.before you start your application, 1st work on ur proof of funds. Before you get admission, get ur funds ready.Avoid lump sum.I know this is not easy for ppl that probably are not well boxed up but u have got to try and pray.

SOP is almost everything. I have been opportuned to see many ppl SOP.I am still owing some ppl my reply sef.But lemme advise u.If u know u are not too good in essay writing or letter writing, please always give it to a trusted person to proof read 4 u.someone that is good in Essay writing cos I have seen a lot of mistakes in ppl SOP. Remember , the V.O needs u to make ur SOP simple and straight 4wad 2 understand. Dont leave anything to the imagination of the V.O.Also please write ur SOP on time.Dont write it a week b4 submission. if possible write it a month to.keep reading it and thinking about it from time to time.trust me u will keep making some very vital Adjustments that may be the game changer.

Also in looking for points to answer why that university or college or degree, believe me you would see lots of points and what make ur university stand out from their websites. They always wanna advertise their university and show u why u should choose them so y dont u use that same information on ur SOP as to the uniqueness of that school and course.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by makano: 9:22pm On Nov 22, 2021
Hello Bimdaqueen

Its obvious the Visa officer that worked on your application had all the time to really go through your application.

Now let me simply interpret the Concerns of the Visa Officer according to what I can see in your GCMS notes.

You had a National certificate in education in August 2012 and began a teaching Job the next month, i.e September 2012, and stopped in March 2015, after which you got married, and since then you have not been doing anything or you have not been doing something tangible till this moment. (The Visa officer was concerned about your GAP).

All of a sudden, out of the blues, you wanna go for a BSc degree considering the number of years you have been idle or not productive. You going for a BSc at this stage of your life doesn’t really make sense to them considering your past educational and employment background.
You failed to convince them of your goals and how your proposed course of study will be beneficial to you and your home country. Your study plan is vague (work on your SOP)..

All the funds in your Sponsors account (Sister and Mother) SOA are all lump-sum deposits, with no evidence in your application to back up all the deposits in the SOA you submitted. The Visa officer is concerned that the history of these funds doesn’t look convincing and it won’t be available for your studies in Canada.
You also failed to declare the establishment of your family members in your home country. With this, the Visa officer sees you as someone that just wanna run away to Canada and never return because you do not have any reason to return back to your country.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

First, you do not need to rush to re-apply. The Visa officer really took his time to review your application, you also will really take your time to address the VO concerns before you re-apply.

You need to work on the following,

Your sponsors SOAs, work on the lump sum.. You can get a Deed gift from your mum
You must show Career progression in your choice of degree and also your course of study. How old are you, for you to be gunning for a BSc at this stage of your life? Please note that age really matters when going for a Bsc.. It will be difficult for an applicant of more than 25 years going for a Bsc in Canada to convince the Visa Officer compared to an applicant of 18-20 years of age.
The course you will be choosing in your re-application must be related to Education. I do not know your age, but if you are more than 25 years, Bsc is not an option for you, an Advanced Diploma will be ideal, or if you can get a PGD admission, then great..
Work on the establishment of your family members, show what all of them do in Nigeria. i.e If they have a business or If they are working. Show you have established Family members in your home country.
Also, state the benefits of your proposed course to your career in your home country(SOP).

In conclusion , you have a lot of explaining to do in your LOE just to address all the concerns of your Visa Officer. So you will really take your time and not rush, cos the concerns of the Visa Officers are quite detailed.. If it's for you to write your SOP and LOE for months, please do because in your re-application, your SOP and LOE must be Top notch..

Peace

Bimdaqueen:
Good day @ ALL,

Hello everyone please how long does it take for Biometrics to be updated on your portal as completed? I did mine very early today and it's still not showing completed and still showing your Biometrics is needed.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Scott99tish(m): 9:28pm On Nov 22, 2021
UK test is different from Canada.
Canada test are Chest X-ray, HIV, syphilis, Vitals and Physical examination.

Hello Guys,

Please I need advise on something o, is it normal for biometrics not to have reflected over a month after submitting an application? My sister did not do biometrics with her application as she already has valid biometrics since 2019 when she applied for visit visa through paper route. She submitted since Oct 16, the only update showing is that background check is in process. No eligibility, no biometrics, nothing. Another strange thing is that when she logs in it always say there is a new message but the only messages there are the confirmation of submission and transmission messages. We have sent webform alongside emails regarding update of her biometrics, no response. Or is it because the 1st one was a paper application? Never experienced this with my own application so am confused, what should she do

Hello everyone, my wife finally got her visa....whoop! whoop!!!
This begins our long route to naturalization....Thanks for all the updates and help received here, yáll made the process seamless.
So with the visa comes some challenges, my wife applied for a 1yr Business Development & Sales PGD program in Conestoga, Ontario which is only offered in September by the school.
The visa she received is from October this year to expire in July 2022, and as school has started with the first semester almost done we are a bit confused with how to proceed. Our thought is to pick a different course in Human resources in January 2022 so she can travel asap, but we are not sure if this will have an adverse effect during her interview with the border officers. If it isnt a big deal then we will apply for that admission immediately. The HR course has an advantage as it allows for online classes, our hope is with this she can be leaving with my sister in Regina, Saskatchewan instead of staying in Ontario, saving us a lot of cost. I need a guide on how to proceed, best if you have or know anyone that had a similar experience. Thanks in advance guys...
