In 2012 I rejected the opportunity to be enlisted at Police academy I choose university but today years after graduation I’m still finding my feet

hello Op, I am a little knowledgeable about this issues and I would recommend that you join the police and defer your admission for a session, then when you come out of training which is six months you can now work your way to police sport's in whatever capacity and continue your education from there, please do not listen to naysayers and you will thank me later, there is no organization as time and education friendly like the Nigerian police force

Secure the job first as the future looks bleak for job seekers in Nigeria.Since you are in 200L,well you could lose a year during the course of your training.

After ur training ensure you are deployed where your school is domiciled,an arrangement can be fashioned between yourself and your boss if he is understanding. You maybe lucky and get a schedule that affords you the opportunity to complete ur degree.

You may later tender your certificate with proper guidance and be upgraded to an Assistant Superintendent of police (ASP).

go for the police you won't regret you did, life after graduation no be come shop o especially if you don't have connections

This is me asking same question in 2018.

From Abia state, I left as a 200l student of Michael okpara university of agriculture to join the NPF in 2018. I was studying computer science.

I strived so I could make high grades and when I couldn’t meet up financially i finally decided to follow my Elder sister’s (a senior officer) advice to join the force after she helped purchase the form.

God! During my 6 months training, I thought I would be permitted to go sit for my exams in school at least, after I managed to get textbooks and read all night when my mates were busy sleeping after strenuous daily activities. My “AC ADMIN” would easily discharge me with the phrase “you have gotten a job now, the exams are not necessary” and refused to grant me casual leaves to school.

I refused to give up with school, I thought to myself “maybe he is right, I would be paid enough when I pass out from here, with the money I could further my education and probably fix things at school.”

“Lo and behold” I was transferred to Ebonyi state from police college. My hopes of combining school with work in jeopardy and the pay was too poor to carter for myself and run my school activities from another state.

I spoke to a superior officer if It were possible for me to go on a transfer back to Abia state but he laughed and said he has been working on his transfers for over 15years to no avail.

That was how I dropped from school. Few years after I still had to drop the job and hustle more because the pay was too poor, the intimidation from superiors were frustrating and the risk and hatred was something else.

I don’t know how you should see this, I just decided to share my experience. Good luck!

You are welcome, some of this guys insulting police and tell you not to join are into one crime or the other, they don't want police to exist so that they can continue with their crime, anywhere in the world corp are respected but in Nigeria, police tell you to do this you open you mouth, esprit de corps in advance. Did you know anyone before you were shortlisted? No, but people that failed would tell you 'if you no get person you go get it Nigeria police are corrupt' brother welcome to the most unique force in the world.

Two useless situations..chances of that ur degree getting u anything useful in Nigeria is as slim as Satan going to heaven just also as police work is like choosing to eat with devil with short spoon and at the same time want to be holy ..never will u work as a policeman in Nigeria and u will never be a cursed man in this life which u will never realized until u ar out of work,the kind of generational curse u have heaped on urself and ur children
