Oga you better don't waste your life...Dumping your degree to go join the Nigerian police of today is a sacrifice too much. Are you the one financing your studies? First seek advise first to see if it's possible to combine your education with the police work. But as a recruit I doubt if the nature of the work you'll be doing will even give you the time and concentration for your studies. If it's not possible, pls I beg you don't sacrifice your degree pursuit because of police. If you do so, you'll surely regret it in future. You can bet that with me. That sacrife is just too much for a country that's not even concerned about it's military personnel.

Join the force. Complete Ur degree on a part time basis or with open university. You'll be able to fend for yourself and Ur schooling will be much easier cuz of Ur new orientation. Aim higher but police recruit salary still better pass private school teacher job which many grads still fall back to.

Guy, I will advice you to take the job and forget about degree for now except you're studying a professional course that guarantee job after graduation. Getting job now is very difficult, having a degree is now equivalent to having an SSCE result.
Though the constable pay is not much, but you'll appreciate yourself later on in future when you see you fellow classmates

If it's American, Canada , UK etc police please join but if na Nigeria police hmmm Omo continue with your degree jare.

Secure the job first as the future looks bleak for job seekers in Nigeria.Since you are in 200L,well you could lose a year during the course of your training.

After ur training ensure you are deployed where your school is domiciled,an arrangement can be fashioned between yourself and your boss if he is understanding. You maybe lucky and get a schedule that affords you the opportunity to complete ur degree.

You may later tender your certificate with proper guidance and be upgraded to an Assistant Superintendent of police (ASP).

An engineering or science graduate doesn't have to take a teaching job if he knows what his course entails.Na theory Nigerian universities dey teach if not he for use engineering skills take be self employ.Mechanical,elect-elect,and civil engineers,

Ditching a Degree in place joining the Nigerian police force as recruit would probably be the dumbest thing anyone can do. Even if his dream is to be a police officer, a university degree would place him in much more better position and future options in the police force.
Education is its own reward. Even if an education doesn't guarantee you a suit and tie job in Nigeria, it would certainly give him broader options in the future in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.
Abandoning the pursuit of a university degree to be a Nigerian police corporal would be the dumbest move in anyone's lifetime. A lifetime of regret awaits him he chooses that path.

Stop overreacting. Nobody is abandoning anything. He can simply defer a session or two at most and would come back to finish it. There are countless number of people parading the same Degree certificate struggling to get a 20k job. Unemployment in Nigeria is at an alarming rate and a Degree certificate does not guarantee anything.

Defer your admission for a year, go for the screening and training and then after deployment meet with our superior officer to post you on night duties.
Then you can go back to school, Don't mind many of those telling you not to go for it cos if they have such opportunity they would grab it sharpaly

Join the police and transfer your university credits to the open university and complete your degree course.

My brother forget wat some people are saying here to discourage you. I was in my Final semester and got a job to work with dy Nigerian police 2019. I went and differ the semester after POP can bck and finish up, now I have my Degree and also have a Job, let nobody deceive you here Millions are looking for this opportunity Wich you got..bro no waste am, naija hard aswear..No work..you can do just wat i did, working a transfer bck to were ur school is located is so so easy you can still wrk nd school....... proudly a Nigerian police officer, we move...Naija go better.

You are on the right track my friend but l will advise you to write to your school authorities for one year deferment of program , so that after your training , you be able to continue your school.

Bobo go for the police and make sure u find means to finish ur education so that u can go far in the professional...
Also try to knw ur ways, at least, hunting for two confirm yahoo guys everyday will garner u money and before u knw, u become richest man in ur hood.
