“N-CASH” almost gave my hypertensive Neighbor another crisis, after messaging here that her son is now a national fugitive and on the run cos of #3800 with 2 days late payment. He was in school then and needed urgent funds. I got the message as well cos I have him as a contact on my phone... the rate at which that woman shouted and ran out of their apartment ehn!, later knew she was hypertensive. We had to calm her down and make her understand the situation.... of which he has been trying to reach the customer care through WhatsApp cos he couldn’t have access to their app. I just hope these people don’t kill someday with their mode of operation.

Come and see o! A particular loan app in this Nigeria has been threatening me over a loan that isn’t due, out of 6 instalments I’ve paid 3 and now just some hours after the 3rd instalment is to be paid they’ve started sending me threatening messages and even had the guts to contact people on my contact list that I’m late on my payment. This is so wrong!!

So in July I took out a loan of 150k to pay back in 6 months, they gave me their rules and how I’ll pay it (make I no even talk the big interest rate way dem give me, that one one na topic for anoda day). After confirming my loan on the 2nd of July, it took 4 days for the money to reflect in my account after many stories and mails to them. Can you imagine that these guys have been debiting me on the 2nd of every month claiming that’s when my loan was approved and it’s from my end there was a delay. That’s so unprofessional and mean! I’ve tried to speak with someone on their end but nothing…they’re just speaking English. I don’t know how to report them. Now they’re threatening me even though they’re the ones at wrong.

Most of these loan companies don't care about you or your reputation o. They will promise you heaven & earth everything join with sweet words, they will trick you with social media ads only to lure you in and torture you.

I just tire. I’m soooo pained that I even had to take a loan in the first place and this is what they’re putting a customer through. Na only to dey dirty people name them sabi all these loan apps are one kind and maybe even fraudulent cause not only is their interest rates too high, they shouldn’t be allowed to threaten people at all even if they’ve missed a payment date; it’s just wrong. Is this how all loan apps are? What can I do? I heard FairMoney and some other loan apps are better?

Go and pay the money you borrowed. Stop ranting. Didn't you agree to the terms. You are among the people giving Nigeria bad name.

there are laws regulating loan/interest rates in Nigeria, let the loan apps follow the laws and regulation. According to the law, no lender can prosecute any defaulter until after 1 year of owing, according to the law and regulation in Nigeria, interest rate is maximum of 48% per annum which is 4% monthly. wicked lenders and their agents loan their money out to receive interest as high as 50% weekly /monthly plus capital. That is unspeakable evil of man to another man and if you cannot see it then it is because you yourself are part of this grave wickedness to humanity, they all know their business is wicked that is why they are hiding from CBN and others regulators,

Stop quoting law. Nobody forces anybody to take a loan. The person should have taken from their bank then or a more reputable loan agency. I don't support loan sharks, but If you decide to play their game then you have to play by their rules.

You think it's easy to loan strangers money with no credit history or collateral?

I disagree with you.
The problem with Nigerians is that we do not READ!
1. If your contract says you will be debited on 2nd regardless of when the loan was disbursed, then you are the one that is wrong to accuse them!
You should have stopped the loan and signed a new contract if the 2nd day repayment was not convinient for you. But as Nigerians, we assume the other party will understand .
2. Why are you complaining about the interest rate? Didin't you read your contract? You collected the loan and enjoyed it, now you are vexing about the interest on the loan? That is rather selfish on your part too.
3. You do not understand Nigerians and their penchant for not paying back their loan. These companies know the evil nature of Nigerian to reap where they did not sow. Therefore, they have deviced a rather unprofessional way to recover their money. You see, Nigerians do not like to be called out or shamed , so they use this psychological tactics to compel repayment.

What i can tell you for sure is that one day, someone who they've embarassed will be so provoked that one day he will go into their office with a gun and shoot as many people as he can.

The best loan app is Carbon, I borrowed money from them last year to pay back in 6 months time, unfortunately I had an accident before the lockdown so haven't being able to finish the payment....no threat, no increase in interest, they call to know about my wellbeing and when u want to pay back, they are very polite, Carbon is the best LOAN app ever

For the people criticizing loans, loans can be very helpful for a lot of people. Many advanced country rely heavily on credit systems like Student loans to operate and it’s helped millions of people.

Personally, I’ve benefited from loans in which I used to pay my school fees.
You don't borrow for consumption, you borrow for investment, mind you, education is also an investment.

How do you explain folks who borrow to imprey their girlfriend or to buy phone and cloth to show off.

Actually, there interest rate is really good. You can even borrow for up to 15 days without paying any interest
The best is carbon or black copper in terms of interest higher loans and they are matured in dealing wit their costumers

I've used them, high interest rates 25% a month. And you can't manually control the amount you borrow.

I've grown my loan qualification passed the point I'm comfortable borrowing so I've abandoned them.

Kuda overdraft covers me, so I don't use any shark loan service anymore.

Those their empty threats, after a while will turn to beg, they did d same thing to my colleague, sending sms to his contacts and saying they will arrest him, after a while they will beg u to please pay d loan. There is a law that prohibit them from sending msgs to contacts.

OP,

If you're upto date with your loan repayment, and they come back threatening you. Tell them you will report and forward all threat messages to NITDA, they will back-off.

NITDA is the agency that regulates the loan companies .
