I have been a fitter for 3 years and have worked on different projects. A power station and presently I work with offshore infrastructure limited, a contractor for DORC in Lagos. Basic Salary is N210,000 9 Likes 1 Share |

One of the major challenges of this job is exposure to fumes from welders. Pipefitters work in tandem with welders and as such basic PPE should be mandatory at all times to limit the inhalation of toxic fumes. Ofcourse, there are other challenges working at height (especially for those that have the phobia) shattering of discs and so on but the good news is that there are equipments in place to protect the fitter and those working with him.
