I just admitted into Romanian America university i will like to knw if i can get a part time job while I study.

economically nigeria is far better than romania, but the advantage is that they are under EU. and one can use it as a transit to europe.

How are you better than romania, you are one of the reason africa is not moving forward and most Nigerians dont read beyond the book.

A country with free health care and education , they have nice infrastructure than Nigeria. More than 100 million Nigeria live in face me and I face you house . What is Nigeria per capital income .

That was why some said Nigeria is better than Finland and norway. They give you free tuition education and you are good yo have 8000 euros to cover only your living expenses and travel there with 3000 euros and you want to work, live and study. When your 3k euros finish you start to complain , when will Africa learn how to do the right things.

Even people still struggle live in well rounded advanced countries . Did nigeria give you light , free education , free health care , even graduate with underpaid work of 50k or no work at all and you want other countries to treat you like king or queen.

Let us leave the story for another day

Thanks.... we ain't talking about cost of accommodation,feeding etc. What's it like getting a job, minimum wage or hours u get to work,can one manage 2 to 3 jobs.. and can you easily move to other EU countries..... a friend of mine says it's easy and he travels from Italy to romania without hassles... 8yrs topic hope y'all can still see this my comment

As a Romanian citizen, reading all your “nice” opinions about Romania, I can’t stop laughing and say to myself: “Seriously, look who’s talking”!!!

As Nigerians, do you actually think that your country’s image in the world is much better than Romania’s? Or do you think all these so called “civilized” western European countries that are against Romanian joining Schengen, are so keen on welcoming Nigerians or any other immigrants?

Get your facts right, before you make an opinion! Therefore, I highly recommend you to open the history and political economy books; maybe you get an idea about the international interests that stand behind European Union policies (against or in favor of Romania).

If you consider yourselves intelligent & open minded people, you should know from experience that one must never believe everything is shown on tv, and that every country has their good, bad and ugly side & above all, every individual experience is different.

The way I see it, despite all I read & hear, I can travel to Nigeria and have the greatest experience of my life, while someone else can travel to the same destination and get robbed from the airport (or even worse)… the same goes for any of you, traveling to any country in this world.

If I were to judge Nigeria or any African country based on what I read or see on tv, then I’d never make any friends from there and I would have never got a change to discover the beauty and diversity of your culture. Ignorance is NOT bliss!!!

Back on the main topic, admission into Romanian Universities, one of my best friends is Nigerian and she just got admission to a University here in Bucharest, to continue her studies (Master program), so I will come back with my feedback regarding the whole admission process for foreign students (I was involved in most of the steps, from the application file to paying the tuition fees on her behalf).

Btw, in case you wonder, yes I am a woman and like many of my Romanian “sisters”, I think I manage pretty good, to speak in a few European languages, English included.

It has been a while, but tonight I noticed several notifications in my inbox so I decided to log in. It would have been easier if you would have mentioned what kind of advice you need.
If it is related to applying to study in Romania, there is a lot of information here on this forum but also in general online, many guides for applying to different Universities.
I`d suggest searching by 2 main topics:
1. cheapest universities in Romania for international students
2. cost of living in Romania for international students
When you get accepted, you should already have the funds to prove you can sustain yourself.

First of all depends on what kind of visa you have. As a student, you can get a part-time job, depends on your skills & qualifications. Romania is one of the largest Tech hubs in Europe, but also full of educated workforce. And since Brexit, a lot of Brits relocated to Romania to keep the EU residence rights.

Working 2 to 3 jobs? Student or not, I personally never met anyone who worked 3 jobs... only the commute from one to another and the day is already finished ) In Romania most people work a full time job, unless you are a freelancer and manage your time based on the projects you are involved in.
About salary, I had a good laugh reading some of the comments, someone claiming 200 euro is the highest salary in Romania )) as if Google was not invented and plenty of resources available...
A person working in Romania typically earns around 8,980 RON per month. Salaries range from 2550 RON (lowest minimum wage by law - before taxes) to 40,100 RON (highest average, actual maximum salary is higher).

The Romanian Leu is the currency of Romania, 1 RON is ca. 0.20 Euro so divide those salaries by 5 and you get your average amount in Euro, stating from ca. 500 Euro/month (usually unskilled workers).

Since you already have a friend who travels between Italy & Romania without husstle, you should him directly how he proceeds.
Traveling to other EU countries legally is not easy since Romania is not in Schengen, meaning if you would like to travel to Italy for example (or any other EU member country), you will have to apply for visa.

Good day, I'm planning on relocating and probably starting my business over there(my plans tho)cus Nigeria isn't favorable in doing business for startups

There are many websites with available information to everyone, including the official Immigration Office of the respective country... there are companies specialised in assisting NON EU citizens to move & settle in EU.
There are legal ways and not so "legal" ways... but in the end, any non EU citizen who wants to live, work & do business in any EU country, needs DOCUMENT aka Residence Permit.

All human beings want a better living (from basic needs like food, water & shelter to easy access to electricity, education, better healthcare system, roads, safety, etc.) so I totally understand anyone having a desire to move to "greener pastures".
Romania just like Nigeria has been blessed with many resources, but unfortunately both countries suffer from the same terminal disease: CORRUPTION right at the top!
