I recently picked up an appointment with Oyo state government as a state secondary school teacher but alas! I was posted to a village in saki .From my house to saki is about 5hrs then from saki to the village is over 1hr on bike . The condition is very unpalatable.. No browsing network, poor light and poor leaving condition . I don't think I can cope again. All means to secure transfer back to Ibadan are abortive as the village is in dire need of teachers .The salary is not even enough to travel 3 times in a month ,my only thought is that it's a govt job but it's a very hard environment and it's very depressing. have some attachments.

I served at saki East (ago amodu) , others are sepeteri,oje owode, ogboro, and agbonle ...

Ogboro is still manageable, oje owode is not that bad sha, sepeteri is a f*cking village, but u see that ago amodu and agbonle most especially agbonle, just redeploy by all means.

Cuz @ agbonle, you only have 2g to browse,bad electricity, the king will try to make u happy to endure the 1 year suffering...

Anyways, that school uniform looks like that of one Muslim school in ago amodu adjacent Zion school ...

The only thing you will enjoy in this community is food, if you relate well with your students, they will take good care of you. Also no transportation, you will be able to save perfectly.

If you can endure it , I tried to redeploy during my time but I realised you have to drop big raba so since I no even get sure place, I kukuma stayed there and we corpers tried our best to make it fun for ourselves


Since it's a government job, I will advise you to reject it because that area will make you beautifully poor.

Young people should start going into farming and leave government work alone.. which kind suffering be this

I opine that you should try and see if the TESCOM can transfer you to Ibarapa East or Oyo Town.
That will be better than Saki

@OP, I don't know how to advise you, you should weigh your options if you won't be redeployed.

Guy, stay there, impact the needful knowledge to the pupils, trust me you'll gain more in that rural area

If the governor is anything to go by considering his online gangs and their hype, the school would one day get an uplift. The fact that the state government sent you there to teach means they know about the school. Do your best and one day the sun would smile on you.

Is it a must for you to go? If you are not comfortable with the environment and working condition of the place, you can decide to terminate your appointment.

Don't waste your life on this kind of job. You would be poor forever. You would end up being very frustrated. But on the other hand, Learn to take advantage of your environment. What business could be introduced to the community? Could you start a farm? What goods are cheap in the community? Think and plan. Stop thinking like a teacher and start thinking like a trader.

Clean the bathroom, get bedsheets for your bed, introduce cleanliness and civilization to the community.
Do they farm there? You can go into massive farming. Farmers are making it big time. Do they have football viewing centre there? Do they have enough machinery for milling grains?
When a Chinese man leaves China (city) to Nigeria (village) he introduces the civilisation that wasn't there before and makes it big time.
