OP, this guy is right. Digital skills is just the way to go if you wanna live a quality life.

I'll advise you to take the job, do it for 6months, a year at most. Save up money and enroll in any digital skills that interest you, I'll advise video editing.

20k, WTF man! Just 2jobs I did on Upwork this week is 8times of that amount. Skills dey very important!

OP, go through this thread, it's a life changer https://www.nairaland.com/5898215/how-build-enviable-income-email/53#105940261

God bless my brother, friend and Boss, Venzal, for opening my eyes to Upwork. That nigga is a brother indeed!

I always marvel at how shallow your thought is and the arrogance with you exhibit that shallow thought.

Is 30,000 naira small? Yes!

However, if he doesn't have any other option at the moment, he can take the job, while getting himself ready (through skill and capacity building) for better opportunities.

If he has a passion for legitimate business and he's required resources, he can start it. The key thing is looking at the options available to him at the moment!

Destiny and opportunity/connections matters in everything in life, where that does not favor one person might be a success/favor room to another person, my advice be focuse and consistent in any field and make the right decision/connections and always look ahead for improvement.

Teaching is a waste of time, and the 20k in this period is just like slavery job.

But since nothing is forth coming, pls don't feel comfortable in that teaching job.

I won't lie,u can't achieve anything meaningful in teaching life,it's a life I have been through,till I left it

I taught for good 13+ years,I couldn't buy bicycle tyres.

Pls assume you are jobless with that job,so u can seek other options.

My 2 cent to you.
So sad, Brethren! How did you survive in such years of teaching?

Instead of accepting the job and build from there, you are here complaining, do you prefer to beg or look for urgent 2k. I know the money is very small but it's better than sitting idle doing nothing.

On a serious note, teaching is a noble profession but most owners of private schools are making it look like a menial job and it's unfortunate. Which one is 20k per month for a teacher, except it's on part time basis if not so, it's not worth it.
Re: Should I Accept The Teaching Job? by Tomek09(m): 2:23pm On Dec 12, 2021
Very very poor. Even a salary of 100K is rubbish in this Buhari's time. So sorry for you bro.
Re: Should I Accept The Teaching Job? by bolabadmus38: 2:28pm On Dec 12, 2021
Bros, accept it and that the Almighty God because thanking him means you are asking him for a better one. Do it conscientiously. Do it with passion. Dress well within your capabilities. Continue praising the Lord every day you go to work and when you're back home. You will see what God Almighty will surprise you with. That maybe where God Almighty want you to pass through before getting something good. Be nice to everyone there. Proprietor/proprietress, co-workers, students, parents everyone. My brother you will come back to this platform to share your testimonies. I know of someone who out of frustration took a teaching Job,walking up to 2-3 km to school but was happy doing the job. Today he's outside Lagos earning over 200k monthly on the same teaching job.

When it comes to settling down for a job, you are the only one that can help yourself. You know yourself better than anyone of us. Moment of reflection:

* what value can you offer?
* what is that HND degree in?
* what are your grades? (Yes, it matters in Nigeria if you need a job)
* are you confident in yourself?
* if you were to own a company would your hire someone exactly like your current self?
* how competent are you?
* what problem solving skills do you have that people are willing to pay for?
* what experience do you have?

If your answers to the questions about doesn't leave you with some 'pride', then you have a lot of personal improvement to do, and no right to complain about the salary. Na wetin you deserve for now be that.

Truth is, most Nigerian youths nowadays only go to school so that they can make expressions such as, "I dey school". 85% don't even know why they are there.

Any course apart from medicine, nursing, law are mere waste of time. Don't go after management courses, engineering courses except you have connections in juicy offices or organisation.

If you can't do the afore mentioned courses, then, study education in universities or college of education. At least, you can still get private schools that will pay fairly well.

Relocate to high brow areas in Lagos, Abuja or Port Harcourt if you want to pursue a career in education.
I think you don't know what specialization is all about..How many doctors did govt/private sector employed yearly?Or many business capital needed to open a small clinic or small hospital in the neighborhood? The same to lawyer..That one even pass business capital because you need mentor and experience in performing better in this field..Compared to management and engineer courses.. Management course are meant for different field, depending on your choosing path..They are trained to be self employed and be employer of labour..As at today..I used my sound knowledge in management in running my life, especially at the hard economy..The knowledge of management as help me alot, especially in planning, organizing, decision making, best investment, choice, finance, and general management.. That's y, schools is beyond certificate..go for the skills and be better than others..The same too to engineer.. It's just that,I don't know much about them..

If you don't have other means take the job, but keep looking out for other opportunities, I was earning 15k in 2018 as a teacher, today I'm a federal govt employee.

There's more reason to take the job. You can get to know parents for private tutorials which pays more than regular hours
I do private teaching and I receive not less than 45k a month (I left regular teaching)

My brother is better to look for a job as a security guide in a good organization or company, while you are there start spreading your C.V around the company and tell people in the company or organization about your self and watch what God will do in your life.
I'm the living testimony of that, from security guide to Distribution officer.
Never be ashamed of your hustle.
