Some things in life are forbidden, sure to be doomed and disastrous but yet so appealing. Like you know the outcome doing something is going end in tears- not of joy- but still your mind gets giddy just at the thought of it. That's the exact same way I feel now staring at the most beautiful girl ever just outside my apartment. Just literally moments ago, before she came, I'd been deliberating on Dayo's words and how right they were but now just one look at her and I don't want to take my eyes off her. One would think that I'd have learned my lesson by now with Nonye about liking girls way above my league but I don't know, the heart just wants what it wants I guess.

"Uh...are you gonna let me in?", Mia asked with her right hand on her waist. Always so bossy.

"Hi good evening to you too", I replied sarcastically with a smile as I gave way for her to enter.

"Whatever", she said with a slight wave of her hand but I didn't miss the small smile on her face as she walked past me.

"Gosh, I'm starving", she sighed as she crashed down on one of the couches. "Please get me something to eat", she whined on and I rolled my eyes. A trait I picked up from spending time with her, she's quite a handful. A beautiful handful.

"Uhmm....I'm kinda out", I said.

"Out?"

"Yeah, like out of foodstuff. I've got nothing at the moment."

"Oh no! I'm gonna die", she whined.

"Um...could you do that like not in my house. Don't have strength or resources to deal with police wahala", I joked.

"Very funny", she rolled her eyes. "Geez...how can you not have anything at all...is this what being broke feels like?"
Ouch! Okay that hurt, I won't lie but don't blame her though. I am kinda broke at the moment.

"Spoken like a true trust fund brat", I said as I stood up to get my keys.

"Nothing wrong with that", she beamed proudly. 'Wait..you're going out?" She asked a bit alarmed when she saw me grab my keys.

"The groceries ain't gon buy themselves now, are they?", I said making sure I had my debit card and phone with me.

"Really?...I think I'd be dead before then. My stomach is touching my back already", she cried and I bit back a smile at how cute she seemed.

"You should have been named Juilet because damn girl, you're a drama queen", I smiled and she smiled back.

"You know what, let's just order in something and maybe tomorrow can go grocery shopping", she said, already typing away on her phone. "I can go with you tomorrow if you want", she said as she looked up at me and then immediately returned her eyes to her phone screen. There was this look of uncertainty on her face as she briefly looked up at me. It was like she was nervous or shy even or maybe she just realised what she said and the reality that she'd be seen in public with a peasant like me dawned on her.

'God forbid I'm not a peasant', I rejected in my mind. I stared at her as she continued ordering on her phone and wondered how we got to this place. I mean this is like the most beautiful girl and probably the most  influential too on campus in my dorm, ordering food for the both of us. It still felt surreal and if anybody told me two months ago that I'd be talking to Mia Rotimi or that I'd  be over Nonye so soon I'd have laughed hard at that person.

"Now we wait", she said as she dropped her phone.

"Wait, you didn't even ask me what I wanted", I said suddenly coming back to my senses. I'd been going on about her in my head I totally forgot to tell her what I wanted.

"Don't worry I got you", she waved her hand dismissively and I scowled. "What did you order?"

"Lets see", she said picking her phone. "Jollof and fried rice, burgers, chicken n chips, medium size bucket of cookies and cream flavoured ice cream. That's all, now tell me you don't like any of them", she dared.

'Wow, a woman after my own heart ', I thought. But she didn't need to know that. I feigned a frown and cleared my throat in a bid to hide the joy in my voice.

"What makes you think I like any of them. I mean I could even be allergic to all", I said and she gave me a bored look that was like 'really?'

"I knew you'd like them because I like them and like I always say, I'm the standard for all things", she said in her usual cocky manner.

"Narcissist", I muttered under my breath.

"I heard that", she said in a sing song voice.

How can someone ooze so much confidence like this? She's definitely over compensating for something and that would be a convo we'd have later. I put on the TV and the PS4 console. FIFA seemed like the ideal way to wait for the food to come.
The doorbell rang and Mia sped to open it. I guess she was really starving and then a thought of her finishing everything in her hunger craze crossed my mind and immediately I paused the game and rushed to the kitchen where she was transferring them to plates.

"Woah...that was really good?", I said as we finished the rice. I was too full to even touch the burger.

"I know right. KFC's lit as f**k", Mia concurred as she drew the ice cream towards her. How does her stomach still have room for ice cream and yet still remain so flat.

"Yeah", I smiled and then it hit me. I didn't pay. "Wait, you paid?" I asked her to which she shook her head in the negative.

"Then who did, cause I didn't", I stated, confused.

"My dad. During his time as an ambassador he was main force behind establishing KFC here in Nigeria plus he's got a substantial amount of stake in the corporation so I've got an infinity medal ticket. Kinda like a black card for KFC food", she said with a shrug, that nonchalant rich kid kinda shrug like it was nothing.  I didn't even know when I whistled.

"Na that kind thing dem dey talk small small?" I muttered in pidgin absentminded.

"Say what?", she asked with a spoonful of ice cream in her mouth.

"Nothing." I shook my head. "Wait, if you can always eat anything you want there and you've got this standby chef at home, why have you been eating here then?", I asked curiously.
She paused and then turned to look at me, her face void of any expression. Then she began covering the ice cream with the lid and slowly stood up.

"I guess you're getting tired of seeing me here all the time. I'm sorry", she said and began putting her phone and keys in her bag while I just stared starstruck and mouth ajar confused what was going on.

"Wait...Mia...uh...what--", I stuttered, utterly lost on what I said earlier talk more of what to say. I stood as she made for the door and then the strangest thing happened.

"Gotcha!", she said as she turned abruptly to face me. "Woah...the look on your face..", she said as she doubled down in laughter. I sighed in relief, realizing it was just a prank and not that she had psychotic issues.

"You know that's how bipolar patients start right?", I asked rhetorically as I smiled, feeling a bit ashamed at my gullibility.

"Yen yen yen", she sneered in her accent and I laughed at how funny it sounded. "For real though, the answer to your question is that I like spending time with you. It just feels like you see me", she said and I smiled.

"Well, I'm happy to be of help to the depressed", I joked and she threw me a couch pillow.

"Like you're not enjoying the time with me too", she replied.

"Well, I already told you that I liked you so its expected", I said staring at her.

"Do you mean that?", she asked softly as she scooted closer to where I was , still maintaining eye contact. "Do you really like me?"

"Mmhmm", I hummed. I was so tensed to even put a word together. By now she was so close that our noses slightly grazed each other and then it happened. The doorbell ring and with way we both flew away from each other, you'd think a bomb went off in our midst.
