Got to abuja ....booked hotel.....the next morning took a cab to their office......gave one uniform officer( igbo man) money....about 75k to 80k..that one took me to another officer wearing no uniform( hausa)...did my capturing for a 10 years passport with 64 pages....it was that day I realised igbo and hausas are friends offline...

Went back to the hotel room...enjoy my air condition....later in the evening I carry some runs babe...repeat same thing the next two days..visited nyanya market...I be nor know say abuja get ghetto..visit wuye, wuse..eat iya oya amala.. went to life camp area...karimu...

On the fourth day boom my 10 years passport is already out

Booked a bus back to Benin city where the King is truely king

Going through the responses and comments here, I can see that there is no hope for nigeria because of wicked masses and citizens like yall .

Truth is if yall deserve the leaders and economic situation you getting.

Why is so difficult for us to do things the right way and follow due process?? We would never kill corruption and nepotism if we find it hard to go the DIY route everytime.

1. Don't wait for when there is an emergency and you start running looking for "express" and be forced to bribe people.

2. I was told to pay 80K for 64 pages or 65K for 32 pages by an agent ... but before then I already made up my mind to go DIY .

Mind you I had that money and more , ( and it was even lost case ! So more stress)

But there is a joy that comes with achieving things like this yourself... I started the process myself from start to finish , where there delays?? Yes , did everything 64pages for Not more than 36K


But still got it in same 1 month timeliness most of you who are paying for express would still have to wait to get it...

OP which office did you do all this? Secondly is 64 pages not 36K again online

Anyways, if you can enter ikoyi you would get your 64 pages passport without bribing anyone by January.... I can direct you to some nice officers I met there....

Let's adopt using online more and you would see the corrupt officers wouldn't have any option but to change

When was this ? My passport is expiring this month and I tried paying for and looking for appointment online but they don't have any appointments open even till March next year. Are you saying I don't need appointment. Can I get it same day if I get there at 6am. I am coming from midwest as well. Hoping to catch a midnight or very early morning flight and be there at 5 or 6 and be back home same day

This was recently in ending October. You don't necessarily need an appointment but, make sure you're very early and don't forget to put your name on some stupid sheet by their stupid gate.

Not sure if you can get it the same day in D.C as they said it's the ATL Embassy that does that.

In my state here with 35k you can get it that same day you payed in cash as far as all the necessary documents needed is intact.

I was in your shoes earlier this year. I paid 55k to an agent in PH for 64pages cos dey said dats wat was available then, wen I was to pick the passport, they now said 64 wasn't available, that it's now 32pages available.
After going to the office almost everyday for 2mnths cos the stuff was delaying the job I got abroad, I paid another 30k and got 32pages after 2weeks.

Op, the open secret is that you dared to do it yourself online. By this time next year, dem go still dey serve you same tory while those who will appoach them with the 'right amount' will get their passport within 24hours. Customer pass customer, bro.

But recently i learnt with man know man with an immigration officer sef you gaz pay between 80k to 100k to fast track your passport within a month

And all these so cuz nothing is working in this country
.they purposely do everything to frustrate peoples' lives

It happened to me, while in India, I paid online for new passport and took the payment slip and other details to the consulate in Delhi, only for them to inform me that I have to pick the passport in Abuja, but if I want to pick it there in India, I must pay another charge.

I needed the passport urgent and I asked to be issued receipt for the payment, they refused that I had to pay cash. I paid 15k Indian rupees for passport that is officially 9,500 Indian rupees.

The Nigerian consulate in New Delhi is nothing but a business center.

Don't mind all those over sabi busy body, if you are not into crime or do not intend to be in the nearest future, why should you be afraid of outsiders knowing your full details. Most celebrities and politicians full names and even home towns and state of origins were known to the public, so have they suffered identity theft?

Baba to your question, if you need Nigerian Passport urgently, better go for the 64 pages 10 years variants( the demand is low, so the booklet is always available) you can get it done in 5 days in any Northern states capital, Don't pay online, just pay what they ask you to pay on the spot, I did mine in Kano for 70K and it took only 4 days.

Pls is there any disadvantage of having the many pages ten years variant compared to the few pages 5years own?

Thank you so much for this . What I mean by same day is that ; can I complete the biometrics and leave , and then , they can always mail the passport right ? Or will I still need to be back in DC for passport collection? Its already the holiday season, knowing how naija things dey be, I doubt if they would be working at 100%. So I will be there after the holidays in January

Oh sure, you complete ur bio the same day and would get a prepaid postage for ur passport to be mailed to you.

Niger state, went to their office, did the payment on ground,they took me to their, ICT room, sat before a computer while they asked me personal questions, and snapped me, told me to go outside and wait. Because there were other people too, before closing same day,they came and met us outside, called our names and we received our passports, the only money I spent apart from 25k was #500 for the green wallet for the passport. I was sincerely surprised too, truth be told. People that came from Abuja to do returned same day. As u travel be security conscious.
