When the conventional Banks with all our details have refused to give soft loans and the Federal Government is using NIRSAL MICRO FINANCE BANK to swindle the masses for a loan they don't give, why will we not patronize them?
They better go and look at the prices of basic commodities.
Very confused people.

Shutting down loan companies does not necessarily mean that loans given out by them will not be recoverable undecided

This administration is very clueless on policies. This is how they are killing startups due to misguided public sentiments.

Nigerians should learn how to pay their debts. Remember that when you urgently need money, no bank will come to your rescue without collateral which you probably don't have. Las Las na Nigerians wey dey write petitions go cry pass
I bet u work for them. How can u give someone a loan of 6days duration with interest rate almost at 50% and call it help. They are a devil reaping where dey did not sow, preying on poor innocent citizens. I nor blame you, thats what u get as a result of bad and clueless people in power, Nigerians knew nothing like loan shark apps until this govt came into power. Making life difficult for everybody.

It's about time!

Imagine giving loans to pay back in 2weeks with 50% interest. That's not even a shark loan, that's a killer whale loan.

You lie about the 50% interest

I swear, some of these idiots that borrow go to play store to report these apps and google act ignorantly be baning/removing the app from play store.
Fed govt. should be look into how to regulate and the app and make sure violators are held responsible.
Sometimes it's better u report them. I know of someone that borrow money from Dem. he defaulted for a week and the overdue accrued to him was more than the money he borrowed even when he eventually paid everything, they still get calling his contacts that he is a criminal. If na u What will u do since u don't have money to sue them.

I agree with you on that . If you can collect the loan, then fulfill your part of the agreement .

However , the part I hate is the calling of contacts . It is a stupid , mafia-like shakedown . I have never taken their loans but I have been harassed because a vendor that I bought things from and exchanged numbers for future transactions got a loan and I started getting harassed for someone I barely know.
For heavens sake I have only met this person twice a sales event .
The part that got to me was when I got a call and I picked , there was a guy at the other end who sounded like a tout telling me that if I like myself I should tell the lady to pay up else my credit-worthiness in banks and financial institutions will be flagged .
God saved him that He quickly cut the call when he finished .

They are not shutting down all, only those that don't meet regulatory permission. Any idiot can now create and upload a loan app to collect peoples credit card details to wipe their accounts.
the any idiot you said live on the moon to escape punishment? When people violate rules, they're made to face the law. In as much as there are idiots, there are legit and good guys. What they should do is fine anyone caught in the act with a minimum of 1m. But the main reason why they want to shutdown these platforms is that banks are loosing. The rules they're talking about is that these apps quickly gives loans without any colater and therefore has reduced the traffic on bank loans. Assuming the loans were difficult to for users to obtain, no matter what the policy is, the government would do absolute nothing about it. If you look at this critically, you'll know the main intent behind the shutdown. Actually, i agree with you because there are really really idiots.

I don't understand the people on the first page. It is not as if they forced u to borrow money from them, so why complain about the interest. Before borrow u get to see the interest rate, nobody put a gun on your head to borrow from them. Most Nigerian even if there is no interest on the money they borrowed, they won't still pay backs on time and I am talking from experience. U would have to beg and pursue them up and down before they pay back. The only fault with this loan company is calling wrong people and telling them to warn the debtor( was I there when the person borrowed the money). It is total wrong. A friend of mine borrowed money from 3 different loan app with the intention of not paying back. The goat now use me as guarantor for the three. This was middle of this year and till today he hasn't still paid any. Do u expect them just to fold there hands and do nothing? Most of them believe this is the only way to collect their money.

Abeg they should shut them down, those people are just criminals taking advantage of poor Nigerians.

Imagine loaning a person in need money with over 45% interest for a duration of 6days, then going ahead to tag him a criminal when he can't meet up with the payment date. Aren't they the criminals?

Buhari's clueless leadership just brought suffering to Nigerians.

They should shut them down and leave the reasonable ones to keep running.

I see loan sharks going extinct by next year.

This I have seen.
Why take a loan..

You have absolutely no hope of paying for?

50% interest in 6 days, and you are justifying it. They are taking undue advantage of the poor. Stop justifying their criminality. 50% interest in 6 days and their only means of getting it back is through defamation of character. Some of them are so foolish that they don't know that the contacts in my account are fake. If you send one million messages that tag me a criminal,
none of those my contacts knows me.
