Thanks Jennixyluv for your response. I never wanted to pay any dime for extra service but just get the appointment date and wait for my time for biometrics. The issue now is no available date at all for self service which I believe is deliberate at tls to extort every applicants one way or the other. I am thinking of checking for next two days and if I don't get I might result to assisted service cos it has the lowest service fee and for date picking.
Can anyone advise the best time to be awake that I might be lucky to see free date?
I have all my documents in a folder in my system which I used for my previous visa, in case I do assisted can they use a flash or allow transfer of soft copy documents?
Honestly I am not happy.

Good afternoon house, compliment of the season to you all. Just to pick your brains regarding first time application for my dad. Is it advisable to apply for 6mths visit visa or can I apply for a 2yr one straight away. It is to safe him the stress of travelling to Lagos for biometric after the 6mths visa runs out as I'll like him to visit yearly. He only has travel history to African countries. My mum has had a 6mth UK visa previously, so planning to apply for 2yrs for her. It's a joint visit visa application. I would appreciate your input please. They are both employed, well established with strong home ties.

You can keep refreshing every hour. When do you want to travel? I hope you've seen the waiting time for most is 40 Working days and above. I have now been waiting for over 50 WD. More than 10 weeks. So, bear this in mind in your application. You also have the option to wait for fast track to resume and you pay for that.

Hello, the advice I got is that 6 months is required for a first timer. I am British and my husband is Nigerian and when applying, we were advised to apply for the 6 first and then go for 2yrs and then 10yrs. This is the same route most of my Nigerian friends have taken. It's better safe than sorry but if anyone has experienced contrary, please shout!

I know someone who did two years straight but this was a “long time ago”. She was a first-timer and elderly as was going to attend her son's graduation

Hello "house," please would TLS attend to couples together (as a single entity) if they got the same biometric time/slot?

Thank you AmeliaT for taking the time to respond, I value your input and thinking the same too.

Thank you Debbie for taking the time to respond, I haven't found anything to suggest a first timer can't apply for 2years. The person you are referring to proofs that there is no clear rule about it. They probably examine each application based on its own merit.

Please what does prime time mean? I keep seeing 8 o'clock slot for prime time.... Can I book it and pay the required fee?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Gadguy125(m): 7:52pm On Dec 31, 2021
It's probably the time before the regular opening hour. You can pay for it if you're not available for other possible slots.

Nothing actually and there’s no harm in trying if you’re sure you merit it or qualify for the visa. The Uk visa fees are high maybe that’s why people tend to begin with the lowest and gradually proceed to the highest.

Prime time is the earliest appointment slot of the day and I’ll advise you book it , get there early and get it over with because of this recent crowd.

Book flexi if you want to attend as a family and have your stuff packaged in one jacket

Thanks for your suggestion, Debbieeeeeee. Apparently, there are no slots available for "Flexi." As a result, we thought of going for the "Premium Lounge" option.

Hello everyone, happy new year in advance.
Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to get pre-departure covid test result? Test was taken in Abeokuta this morning at 10am and my mother-in-law is due to fly 9:30am on 1/1/22.
She’s double vaccinated but I’m worried she might not be allowed to fly without the pcr test result. Any idea what to do in this case please?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 12:20am On Jan 01, 2022
It depends on where it's done. It usually should be available within 24 hours.

Good evening all,

Happy New year 2022!

I will like to seek your advice on a UK visitor VISA. My wife is travelling for a business meeting in the UK (Invitation received from the UK company) but will be travelling with our 7months old baby. We will like to know if the baby needs to apply for a standard visitor VISA just like the mother. Though, we had tried this but the questions are not so related to that of a baby (e.g. "How long have you been staying in your address", if we put 6months, it says we MUST put where he had stayed for the last 2 years), there are other sections like how much he planned to spend in the UK. Your advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Good morning.
Happy first Sunday of the year.

I need quick advice on flight option.
What are my limitations in reference to the Airline, transit, and cost.
These are my research and option at hand;
Emirate. (300plus in Naira 27hrs travel time)
Turkish (1200 USD)
Egypt (570 USD with 31hrs travel time)

Egypt and Emirate would be preferred while my firm choice is Emirate because of the travel time.

Any other flight suggestion will be of great help and appreciated.

Thanks

Omo! Are you sure you are mentally prepared for these travel hours? Where are you traveling to? British airways and air France (you might need a transit visa for this) are the best options in terms of cost and flight duration. You can also visit Wakanow and travelstat for good flight deals. Goodluck

Has a decision been made on your application yet? If it has I’ll say just wait for a bit more and if it hasn’t and you still want to withdraw you have to go to the TLS office where you submitted to make the application, I’ll also say contact them directly too via email or phone call telling them you want to withdraw your passport. This has taught me a huge lesson to always pick the keep my passport option.

I just got my refusal letter but am surprised coz I explained about my personal income that I deal with crypto. Normally my travel date was on the 22nd. Tourist visa. There is no right no appeal.[/quote]
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 11:51am On Jan 02, 2022
Don’t ever mention crypto as a source of income. A lot of countries are very wary of the technology behind it. Also, have you forgotten that it is banned in Nigeria?? You will just be seen as a law breaking citizen.
Also, don’t use the same accounts you receive crypto deposits to apply for visa. There is no way to explain those deposits. You should have a dedicated bank account for your crypto transactions and this shouldn’t be mentioned ANYWHERE in your application.
