JohnBullMySon:The estate is not a private property. And the security at the gate aired. |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by DelTel(m): 4:29pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
JohnBullMySon:No estate is a privately owned property To start with, a) govt owns all land, b) govt using tax payers money provides some amenities, road, etc, c) police and any other govt agencies should have unhindered access to any where in a society in the course of their duty, for instance, building inspection, environment, etc, talkless the police An estate claiming privacy is what led to people like Evans getting away with criminality for so long (interestingly in the same Magodo Estate) and the same Magodo harbours the largest number of yahooyahoo boys on the mainland! Investigating a crime is even more important than arresting |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by JohnBullMySon: 4:30pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
getemail:It is. Most estates are legally co owned private property. They are not like your regular street. That's why you can be prevented from entering. |

JohnBullMySon:Aso Rock is a security area and seat of power; to even compare Aso Rock shows you don't know what you are saying A residential estate is not a residential/commercial area |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by JohnBullMySon: 4:34pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
DelTel:You're just ignorant. If you live in an estate go and ask the administrators there who owns the land. The roads in the estate are built by the estate owner and not government. The entire estate has a C/O classifying it as private land. Yes an estate is private land because someone bought it. |

JohnBullMySon:So will they prevent electricity distribution company entry as well ![]() |

JohnBullMySon:I doubt if the CP goes around crashing into parties UNINVITED with official car and proper identification. |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by DelTel(m): 4:38pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
JohnBullMySon:Thank you for calling me ignorant So why do the estate pay Land Use Charge to Govt if the estate abi your so-called administrators owns the land Most road in Magodo were constructed by LASG Land is owned by govt and assigned to people for usage for a period, usually 100 years Get proper education please PS: CofO is certificate of occupancy, which means govt authorized an individual or entity to OCCUPY for a certain period, can someone who doesn't own something give you Certificate to OCCUPY ![]() |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by JohnBullMySon: 4:41pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
DelTel:I don't blame you. you are simply one among many ignorant Nigerians who have no knowledge of their rights and believe the government should act like a medieval kingdom. Aso rock (Specifically the president's house) and your private homes are legally both private residences. Nobody including policemen not on assignment, can enter without permission. It's as simple as that. |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by DelTel(m): 4:47pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
JohnBullMySon:Mr Human Rights, you have changed from estate to private homes. Did the CP enter a private home? Half-education is worse than no education at all truly |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by JohnBullMySon: 4:49pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
DelTel:You just keep on displaying ignorance ![]() If you have C/O you're regarded as the owner of the land and government will compensate you if they need it. They can't just come and do anything once you have the documents, else you win them in court. And by the way, we're talking specifically about Brooks Estate not the entire Magodo. Government built Brooks Estate ahbi ![]() |

DelTel:You're still not wise. Is the distribution company not coming in an official capacity backed by law? Are they coming to chop rice? |

| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by DelTel(m): 4:59pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
JohnBullMySon:Who constructed Brooks and Diamond Estates road? Ask the exco (if you live in there or know them) how much they paid to PWC and if the amount is enough to tar the road! SMH (I will refrain from mentioning names of those in Alausa that influenced the tarring of the road) |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by Maxymilliano(m): 5:06pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
For whatever reason for God sake the CP should have been accorded respect and allowed entry. He is not an obscured personality. This is not the case of Odumosu now but CP. |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by JohnBullMySon: 5:10pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
DelTel:A lot goes on behind the scenes in sourcing money for road construction. But usually roads inside estates are not public roads. I have stayed over 1 hour outside Sunnyvale Abuja, just because they couldn't contact the guy I was going to see. |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by DelTel(m): 5:16pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
JohnBullMySon:Who authorize naming of street abi estate roads? LGA. Why so when the road is not public You and I are private citizens so can be asked to call someone but definitely not a security official Not a sitting Commissioner of Police! So a DPO could have been beaten then!! We can not keep asking for a better society and still be behaving and supporting what is bad JohnBullMySon:The reason the CP is there is immaterial, police job is 24hours and most importantly he is within his jurisdiction which is the entire Lagos State |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by JohnBullMySon: 5:24pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
DelTel:He has two profiles. One is Mr Odumosu or whatever is his name, the other is AIG with the backing of the constitution. If he were there in an official capacity, the arrest would be justified. But he wasn't. It's just like saying that a policeman has the right to enter your house and watch TV, because he is a policeman. Does it make sense? |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by FarahAideed: 5:31pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
festacman:You have made good points sha but CP erred by arresting the widow and Guards on new years day of all days..he should have let it slide |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by iwaeda(op): 5:36pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
festacman:You just wrote rubbish, every life has a premium, many of our thinking are due to long military rule. Police are meant to be our servants, but in Nigeria anyone bearing arms are seeing superiors. The 30 minutes he waited, could have been used to call his host to get a pass. One day we will understand what DEMOCRACY is all about. |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by festacman(m): 5:45pm On Jan 03, 2022 |

| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by iwaeda(op): 5:49pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
festacman:Thanks for reading the trash I wrote. Many of us react emotionally. We need to wake our brains from myopic reasonings. Until we live beyond this mental slavery, we will remain servants to people who knows how to manipulate the systems for their gains. |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by DelTel(m): 5:56pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
JohnBullMySon:A CP, in uniform or otherwise, can enter anywhere within his jurisdiction and police job is 24 hours You keep missing it, the estate is not a private house or residence A policeman/neighborhood watch/any security official can enter/patrol any street or estate at any time of the day irrespective of a normal street or estate road A private dwelling is a house not the estate; an estate is a public area. All roads are public roads Check sane climes we all want Nigeria to be like, you can not even park your vehicle on the lawn area in your private house as it is regarded a public area; so if lawn area is not yours, how much more the road. Think about it ![]() |

DelTel:No POLICE can enter your house without a warrant, but most us don't know our right. It means I can go to Estate whether I have any business there or not. Have you not read about people being murdered in their homes. Let that sink sir, police can only enter with warrant ![]() |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by iwaeda(op): 6:09pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
JohnBullMySon:Most of them don't know what their rights are. How can he behave in such a manner arresting those guards? |
| Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by alcaptainero: 6:13pm On Jan 03, 2022 |
And you think this can happen in a save clime? What has the corrupt cp contributed in the general security of the state and country at large. Wasn’t it the failure of the police that made the estate to engage private security. He is lucky this happened where there are peaceful residents if not na dead bodies we die dey count by now. Rubbish, ordinary popo commissioner o, if this man was the chief of army staff then he will kill car driver that overtakes his convoy. Nonsense festacman: |

iwaeda:House is different from Estate House is private; estate is public Police need warrant to enter a house not an estate Equating yourself and I to POLICE is funny to say the least; an ideal policeman's duty is patrol on all roads and public areas (I didn't say private homes o) to forestall and nip in the bud a crime instead of waiting for the crime to be committed iwaeda: you actually speaking about the estate residents who have manipulated the systems for their gains creating a division btw the have and have-nots; ostensibly creating a safe haven for criminal minds unknowingly (kidnapper Evans exploited this and more criminals still are) We should commend, and not condemn, when wrongs are corrected. Because something has, sadly, become the norm doesn't mean it is right Let us be broad-minded |

But the estate, in press statement, said the security guards had no prior knowledge of the CP’s visit and were arrested in their bid to assist him with directions. STUPIID LIE. The CP didn't abuse his power, those guys should be taught a lesson Those writing these lies weren't there and can't say shiit |
